PLEASE BE PATIENT
LIFETIME LEARNER

In the time between sending off this design and receiving back a sticker stack, I passed by the parking lot at MANA and saw a student driver doing a kind of pedagogical choreography, practicing their turns and signals and stops and the things we forget we learned once they become instinctual. I was reminded immediately of the final @trunkshowtogo exhibition, which featured a sticker (EXHAUST THE POSSIBLE) and car-eography by @evryhshsadr and finally a song by @__bench_press. @elliotjleilareichert wrote a really wonderful piece about the project for Newcity, which also included a bit of Lin’s choreography and you can still read right now, like I just did. Back in the present which is actually the recent past, I was tickled by this autoresemblance, took a little video with metronomic tock and considered the ever-expansion of the thing we call the possible. The stickers arrived and then @vito_montana_69 got her driver’s license which offered occasion to inaugurate the sticker out in the world. The next day I went to participate and revel in the close of @jordanknecht & @__bench_press ‘s deeply rad show of handmade instruments, which was a true joy. That’s her on cart and me on whistle in the coda. The sticker is on jetsy but wouldn’t it more fun to visit @thingorama tomorrow? Oh and my carmonica is going strong, if you want a ride or just to jam.

“For months I’ve been hinting at a time when you could start to get things done: the real things, the big ones, the ones closest to your core passions. That time has arrived. Note that the planets are not offering you a free pass to anything—they are offering an extended opportunity to put the best of your talents to work. I don’t mean toil and I don’t mean “Sisyphus work”—pushing the boulder up the hill, only to do it again. To the contrary, your mission is to create such a state of inner harmony, willingness to succeed and authentic passion, that you evoke the cooperation of the world. You need to be observant and see specifically where your talents meet a need, or provide something that doesn’t exist. The key here is being authentic. “Authentic,” in part, speaks to the specificity of your mission. Your niche is not “kind of” what you want to do, it’s precisely what you want to do and what you do best. This is the objective that, in my reading, the planets are pointing to. So I suggest you pause and refine your plans. Be clear with yourself. Cross off the list anything that is not really supposed to be there. Now is the time to forget the details of how things are going to happen; pour your energy into the creative aspect of your mission and be precisely who you are.” — Pam B.
