Today, we celebrate the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that have become catalysts for innovation and progress, with Nigeria at the forefront as the hub of entrepreneurship and economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa.

However, we must address the challenges that threaten the longevity of MSMEs. Reports state that many MSMEs go into extinction within five years as a result of the lack of a well-crafted business plan, as it serves as the cornerstone for success.
By prioritizing problem-solving over mere survival, we can unlock the full potential of MSMEs, empowering them to become agents of positive change and drive economic resilience.

In the digital era, we must also embrace transformative technologies and digital platforms to amplify their presence, expand their reach, and tap into new markets. Collaboration with established businesses, industry associations, and government agencies can provide invaluable support, enhancing visibility and opening doors to resources and networks.

Today, we celebrate the pivotal role of women entrepreneurs within Nigeria's MSME ecosystem, representing 41% of these enterprises. Their contributions are indispensable, and we must uplift and empower them through targeted programs, mentorship, and access to financing. By nurturing their talent and leadership, we create a more inclusive and prosperous future for all.

As we commemorate MSME Day, let us renew our commitment to supporting and celebrating the incredible resilience, innovation, and growth of MSMEs. By providing comprehensive support, fostering problem-solving mindsets, and embracing digital transformation, we can pave the way for a thriving ecosystem where MSMEs are the driving force behind Nigeria's economic success. Together, let us create an environment where every MSME has the opportunity to flourish, ensuring a brighter and more prosperous future for our nation.

We can all quite agree that the Supply Chain is indispensable in your organization's processes, so are mothers in running a home.

We marvel as to how they seem to just have it all together. How they manage to turn a hectic household into a well-oiled machine.

They're truly superheroes.
Happy Mother's Day and in the same vein, well done to our Supply Chain Professionals.

Our Board Chair, Mrs. Halima I. Abba, and the Chief Executive Officer, Maureen Chukwuemeka along with the Bridge Program team had a Donor/ Stakeholder dissemination meeting with Mr. Zulkifil Abba who is one of Skills Outside School Foundation's donor and stakeholder supporting our Bridge Intervention Program in Kebbi State, the program focuses on exposing young adults in Government secondary schools to basic life skills, enterprise skills, literacy and numeracy skills, career awareness and development skills and technical and vocational skills.

The program will train 360 students across 12 schools and and give capacity building to 34 teachers and Guidance counselors.

Our discussion with Mr Zulkifil was to intimate him on the progress of the Kebbi State project, up to date financial report and updates made on the project implementation plan based on the findings from the baseline conducted in July last year.

Some of the key outcome of the baseline that necessitated the changes are:
Low school attendance rate as a result of a number of factors and larger percentage of students prefer to be on the farm to cater to their families livelihood and to be taught in the local Hausa language which brought about the need to introduce our Headstart agropreneur program for their parents and literacy and numeracy skills into the implementation plan for the teachers and students among others.

Mr. Zulkifil on his part assured of his maximum support to the project and stressed the need for SOSF to keep pace as these effective ways addresses some of the issues around the high rate of insecurity, youth restiveness, unemployment, and potentially make the youths future-ready.

The teacher training is scheduled for the 14th - 16th March 2022 after which the club session will commence across the pilot schools.
