Just started the cruel prince, think I really need to read something relatively light. I started to loose my love for reading or finding myself in a massive reading slump so think this could be the antidote for that 🧚🧚‍♂️

As I said, kitchen was a big much for me so glad I took this on instead and didn’t force myself to read it. I really think it’s important to remember that you read because you love reading, if the book your reading doesn’t have a good emotional impact on you or it’s boring etc... you can deop it, and you musn’t feel forced to finish it.

Anyway, much love and goodnight xx

Happy Monday! Coincidentally my socks match with these two gems I found at the bookstore the other day! A part of me thinks that both these books were turned in by the same person. I mean… if you read Harjo, then you must ofcourse also be reading Angelou!

Also don’t mind me doing the #lastbooki challenge that I saw @satsbookbag do 🤭🥰

🪞LAST BOOK I 🪞

🛍 bought: Last Chance Romance by Sam Bobrick! It’s a comedic play <3
🤝borrowed: I actually haven’t borrowed a book in years bc I’d rather own it. During the pandemic I did use Libby (so I hope that counts) and I wanna say the last book I read there was Jhene Aiko’s poetry book.
🎁gifted: My brother gifted me the LOTR boxset and I was a savage and returned it 💀 I’m just not really much of a fantasy reader tbh
💝gave to someone else: Felicity by Mary Oliver 🥺😭
📖started: The Crown by Kiera Cass. I finished it in a day!
📚finished: 👆🏽
🌟gave 5 stars to: How to Love a Country by Richard Blanco
🎖gave two or less stars to: Desire’s Door by Lee McCarthy
⌛️dnf’d: I don’t dnf books because I’m stubborn asf! If not I would’ve dnf’d Outlander 100 pages in.
🎧listened to: I don’t do audiobooks but I love the Books Unbound podcast!

Tagging a few peeps 🤍

Just finished mexican gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia!!

So here’s my mini review:
🌟🌟🌟🌟/5

This book was so good, the idea, the execution, the concept were all amazing.
I’ve genuinely never read a book like this, its so unique and the gothic themes were everything.

Essentially its the story of Noemì, a mexican socialite who recieves a disturbing letter from her cousin, Catalina, who says she’s been seeing things and hearing voices in her husband’s mansion.

I wont write more than that, appart from the fact that this was a great book and i flew through it. I will say though, that i found this more disturbing than scary or creepy. But nonetheless i loved it.

Hope everyone is having a great day💞

Just finished this book and woaw, it was a handful. I loved this book, it was so good i so many different ways. Its in the romance genre but it’s so much more than just a romance; really important and deep topics are delved into (mental health, inequality for black youth, the struggle of of live, dependancy etc...) the story in and of itself was amazing, but i love even more the fact that the author was calling out american society for its inequality, prejudices that in has towards black youth. I really think everyone should read this book at least once in their life.

4.5/5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨
