What an incredible day at The Shades of Motherhood Network’s BIPOC Wellness Day! Megan was on the move, providing community acupuncture and seeing 16 wonderful individuals back-to-back.

We are deeply honored to partner with @tsomnetwork to support maternal health, healing, and wellness in our community. Creating accessible, restorative spaces for healing is at the heart of everything we do.

Happy fall issue day, everyone!!! 🍁 Our featured top Spokane photographer is the incomparable Shanoah Eck of @shanoahbriphotography, and our stunning, brilliant cover models are Stephaine Courtney (@tsomnetwork) and Prosparetti Coleman (@cookiebfit7) and I am honored to introduce you to all of them. Give these dynamic women a follow to learn even more about their work. 🔥

📸 Shanoah is a photographer who specializes in photojournalistic style images that capture the very heart of each of the people in front of her lens. She has this effortless way about her when she is behind the camera that makes everyone feel instantly comfortable. She especially shines in wedding photography with her eye for detail and ability to blend into any celebration while capturing the emotional moments throughout the day. Her albums are over-the-top thoughtful, and will have you in happy tears all over again. She also has limited opportunities for family Photography available seasonally, so you’ll definitely want to follow her and join her mailing list to have a shot at getting on her calendar. They sell out quickly!

📕 Stephaine will have a full feature later this season, and you are going to be in awe of all that this woman accomplishes during a day. She is a highly influential educator in maternal health, and the Founder/Executive Director of The Learning Project Network. Most recently, she was selected as Spokane’s first Community Connector of the Year, receiving the inaugural Helping Hand Award in September 2026. Her selfless service to our community is truly remarkable.

📚 Prosparetti is a health and wellness educator, certified holistic nutritionist, health and wellness coach, full-spectrum doula, community educator, and founder of @i_hear_you_sis - a nutrition and health coaching business. She is a mover and shaker in her work AND as a phenomenal dancer with @dance.alegria - where she is Stephaine’s pro partner for the upcoming community competition @dancewithspokane!

Last week reminded me why representation and community matter so deeply. 🌿

I had the honor of speaking at Nourish alongside a lineup of women who left me completely in awe. I sat and listened to stories about women’s health that aren’t talked about enough. Advocacy work that’s quietly changing lives. Wellness practices rooted in truth, not trends.

By the end, I wasn’t just inspired — I was hopeful. Hopeful for what happens when women stop waiting for permission and start showing up for each other, out loud, in rooms like that one.

That’s exactly the energy I want to keep alive in Midé’s community classes.

We aren’t here just to teach but to connect. It’s a space built the same way that room felt yesterday — women learning together, advocating for each other, and believing something can actually change when we stop doing it alone.
