@freepmarathon weekend actually keeps on getting better. I had much more fun this year pacing 4:30 with incredible weather, a reunion of some of my favorite running people, finally getting to meet other runners whom I admire so much, and was humbled by so many first time marathoners who held on for miles with me, showing me the grit and fortitude that comes with the territory.

The job was well done again - no finish line is ever guaranteed, and I'm so glad that #51 was a success.

Dearborn Decades + Falcon 5K + Bridge GR 👟🏁

😮‍💨 still a lil tired from this weekend but it was such a great time! Saturday I raced a 5k at DC for my little brothers cross country team! Sunday we raced with @triviumracing at Dearborn Decades! Then we finished our voyage at the new Gordie Howe bridge where we seen a bunch of friends! Definitely wish we could’ve got a big picture! Thankful for all everyone who came out! 30 MILES FOR (ALMOST) 30 YEARS

Re-certified my ultra card with the help of some amazing friends this weekend!

For months I’ve felt like I haven’t done anything hard in a long time. Planning ahead of my 30th birthday, I decided to knock this run out in celebration of life, friendship, and the choice to pursue what is hard.

Everyday that you can choose to move is a great one. Everyday that you can share that with people you love is an even better one.

Truly blessed. Thanks be to God!

Today I joined my first @run_detroit group run and it was everything I love about the running community.

It was great running into my @dubcityrunners family ( @dana_detroit with the best photobomb ever 💣) and catching up with so many familiar faces before we headed out.

I also enjoyed catching up with @steezxurkel. Every conversation with him just picks up where the last one left off.

I also got the chance to talk with @michael_ostrowski_ who I met at the Detroit Free Press 5K. We got caught up in such a great conversation that I completely forgot to grab a map before heading out.

That set the stage for an adventure.

I may have gotten lost a few times, but every wrong turn seemed to lead to another conversation. I met Bruce from Maryland, who got a kick out of every time I said "eh," and we shared a few miles and great conversation.

I also met up with another runner (who I forgot her name) and we talked marathon strategy for a few miles before I decided to add a little extra adventure and detour to Belle Isle.

The miles were great but the people and connections are what made this run memorable.
