If your instincts got the brand this far, some of them are right. The job is finding which ones. That’s the whole approach we take with a rebrand. Strategy first, design second, and we keep what’s working instead of starting from a blank page. Full story of the Tudy’s Kitchen rebrand is on YouTube now, link in bio. Nekeia sells things with words for a living. She still couldn’t describe her own brand. That’s not a knock on her. It’s what happens to every founder eventually. You build the thing, you live inside it, and slowly the brand stops being a thing you can see and starts being just... you. Which is fine, right up until a stranger has to understand it in two seconds on a shelf. When we rebranded @tudyskitchen, we started with strategy, not design. Every decision came out of that, right down to the colour. We picked the red to stand out in a freezer aisle. Then Nekeia told us what it reminded her of. Some things you can’t plan into a brand. You do the work properly and see what surfaces. This was one of those. Happy Juneteenth Part Two 🖤 Take me back… please! Well least at least run this back so yall can see what a great time I had! Juneteenth in Barcelona this year felt like being back home in Texas. I got to spend time with the brilliant people behind @juneteenthbarcelona — a growing organization full of Black expats who are intentionally building community, connection, and belonging right here in the city. If you’re in Barcelona — or planning to be — look them up. This is exactly the kind of community that makes traveling while Black feel like coming home no matter where you land. Stay tuned for the full piece — there’s so much more to share about this night, these people, and what they’re building.

Yesterday, we made history in Barcelona, Spain! 🇪🇸 What began as Black people searching for community became a sold-out Juneteenth celebration. The largest Juneteenth celebration in Barcelona and the first of its kind! Built by a committee of Black volunteers, artists, entrepreneurs, performers, community builders, and visionaries, this event brought together people from across the African diaspora and beyond to celebrate freedom, culture, creativity, and joy. From live music and DJs to food, art, dancing, vendors, and community connection, every part of this event was created with intention, love, and respect for those who came before us. To everyone who attended, performed, volunteered, supported, and believed in this vision: thank you!!! The ancestors were smiling and dancing with us in Spain! Barcelona, we did that. 🖤❤️💛💚✨ #JuneteenthBarcelona #BlackJoy #BlackDiaspora #Juneteenth #Barcelona Community FreedomDay WeDidThat
