Music opened doors for me. The goal is to keep them open for others.

Grateful to join the Community Music: Folk Forward panel at the @folk_canada Conference, right here in Hamilton.

A meaningful conversation about the power of music beyond the stage: building community, preserving culture, and creating opportunities for others.

It’s the heartbeat behind what we do at Tune In Foundation.

Community Music: Folk Forward

What happens when music moves beyond the stage and becomes a tool for connection, participation, and community building? Community Music: Folk Forward brings together musicians who are also active community musicians to explore the ways music can create belonging, strengthen relationships, and amplify diverse voices. Community music emphasizes collaboration, accessibility, shared ownership, and the social power of music, and it can take many forms. In this conversation, panelists will share their experiences balancing careers as performing artists with community-based musical work. Together, they will consider how advocacy, participation, collaboration, and cultural exchange—and putting people first—can help build more connected, creative, and inclusive communities.

An introduction to who we are and what we do.

The duo's collaborative partnership is defined by a seamless blend of Reggae, R&B, and Dancehall, characterized by soul-stirring melodies and conscious lyricism. Together, they have garnered significant critical acclaim, most notably earning two Reggae North Award nominations, solidifying their status as key contributors to the genre’s North American landscape.

On August 29th we hosted our first Back to School Festival at Hamilton Stadium. Giving away 400 backpacks filled with school supplies, tshirts, water bottles and a swag bag filled with community partners supporting students to go back to school.

The Cartakers Room was transformed into a barbershop giving fresh fades and cuts, with hairstylists breading hair.

Community parters setup to engage with close to 600 families throughout the day networking their services and community support they offer.

One of the highlights was us giving out $6,000 in scholarships that was fundraised with the hard work from local health and wellness businesses!

This was truly a beautiful, heart warming and inspiring experience.

Thank you sponsors, partners and of course Hamilton for showing up and continuing to demonstrate that what we do is important.
