POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I eat more than you’d guess. Most of the men I coach have spent years eating less than they’d admit.

Here’s the loop I see over and over:

You eat very little and the scale stops moving.
You eat a bit more and it jumps.
So you cut again. Out of fear.

Meanwhile you’re running on too little, and it shows up everywhere but the scale. The 3 p.m. crash. Cold hands in a warm office. A short fuse at home. Food noise at night that won’t shut up.

The way out isn’t a harder diet. It’s eating more, slowly and on purpose, with lifting first so the food has a job.

That’s what I put in Reverse Dieting 101, my free 90+ page ebook. I eat the way I coach.

I coach mostly men, but everything in the book applies to women too. Same physiology of under-fueling, same method. Only the numbers differ.

Comment EBOOK and I’ll DM you the link. It’s also in my bio.

From the outside, it looks like exercise.
From the inside, I’m practicing how to meet life.

I don’t start with an exercise.
I start with a question:

What needs to be expressed, and what stimulus would meet it?

Sometimes that looks like lifting weights.
Sometimes tennis, sprints, or carrying a sandbag.
Sometimes breathwork.
Sometimes slowing down enough to notice what another hard session would let me avoid.

The tool changes.
The intention doesn’t.

I’m looking for a meeting point between the intensity inside me and the intensity outside me.

Not always matching force with more force.
Sometimes I need somewhere to put the fire.
Sometimes I need to stop feeding it.

That is how I approach “regulation”.

Not as permanent calm.
Not as becoming so controlled that nothing moves me.
But as having more ways to respond to what moves through me.

In my training, I’m exploring the distance between what is happening, what my body feels, and what my brain expects.

The distance between the weight in my hands
and the meaning I give it.

Between effort and threat.
Between “this is difficult”
and “I cannot handle this.”

I want my training to be a place where I can question those expectations not just intellectually but through experience.

A place to practice:
I can meet intensity without losing myself.
I can soften without surrendering.
I can choose a different response.

Because I am not a collection of separate parts.
And I refuse to train as though I am.

The person carrying the sandbag is the same person carrying uncertainty, responsibility, grief, ambition.

No clean line separates how I move from how I live.

So my work is not simply to solve problems.
It is to help dissolve the patterns that keep making every challenge feel like the same problem.

Information can show me another way.
Action is where I practice it.

The gym is one setting.
My life is the practice.

I’m not just training to carry more.
I’m training to change my relationship with what I carry.

Out of breath but talking about plyometric training and the importance of training the type 2 muscle fibers of the body!

Ideally I try to add plyometric work into my clients warmup routines through out the week. Today @ryand0mi messed around and experimented with different styles of plyometrics

If you want to learn about how plyometrics are better used to keep you young and explosive, comment “JUMP”!

I am hosting a free Swami breathwork session this Saturday, September 26th, at 1 PM at Turf in Newport Beach. I talk about Swami as a movement-informed breathwork methodology I’ve developed over ten years to help regulate the nervous system, raise HRV and vagal tone, and lower inflammation and pain in areas like hips, shoulders, and knees. I aim to merge spiritual and scientific aspects for a unique experience, and I’ll also discuss the method and nervous system regulation.

Gatorade for weight loss? 😂 Love that this client dropped the sugar bomb the next day for water. It's not just about workouts, it's about tweaking those habits! #FitnessHumor #ClientSuccess #HealthCoach #WeightLossTips #FitnessMotivation #HabitChange

A version of you wants comfort.
It wants to preserve energy.
It wants to negotiate with every burning rep, every heavy breath, every moment your legs begin to shake.
That is the ego.
Today is not about surviving a leg workout.
It is about meeting the part of you that keeps choosing the familiar and training past it.
More volume.
More presence.
More time under tension.
More honesty when the set gets ugly.
The quads do not grow from comfort.
Neither does character.
So we build the legs.
We kill the excuses.
We leave the old identity under the bar.
Then we walk out with a new one.
Burn the old self. Build the New.

On Saturday, September 26 at 1:00 PM, I’m hosting a free Swami Breathwork Experience at Turf in Newport Beach.

Swami is a movement-informed breathwork practice I’ve been developing for the past eight years, built around the connection between breath, intentional muscle contraction, and body awareness. Instead of simply trying to relax or “clear your mind,” you’ll use smooth, cyclical breathing alongside guided contractions to tune into what your body is holding and create more space within it.
This is for you if you’ve been carrying a lot of stress, feel disconnected from your body, deal with recurring tension or discomfort, or simply want an hour to slow down, reset, and be present with yourself.
You’ll be guided the whole way. No experience needed—just come as you are, bring an open mind, and give yourself permission to explore.

Comment “SWAMI” and I’ll send you the registration link.
📍 Turf, Newport Beach
🗓️ Saturday, September 26
🕐 1:00 PM
🎟️ Free to attend
The goal is simple: breathe, contract, relax, and reconnect.
