I am so very excited to be nominated by @poetryinbrief / @turneytalks for an @orisonbooks award for my piece “The Caretaker’s Break,” which is upcoming in Poetry in Brief’s “Body” issue! This piece of mine is centered around the frequency of death in a retirement home and the toll that takes on a caretaker’s spirit.

I appreciate that @orisonbooks looks to showcase works from a wide range of spiritual perspectives, including those that are not religious (myself).

Thank you again, @turneytalks and @poetryinbrief, for considering me! It is such an honor to be nominated by a poet/mag that I admire deeply for an award centered around “finely crafted literary work!!” ❤️

I am delighted to be long listed for the 2026 Poetry Lighthouse Prize @thepoetrylighthouse for my poem - Mouths Bathed In Milk - a poem I feel very deeply about, which has found a loving home. Now I have the added joy of it coming to life in print and being archived in the National Poetry Library in London! What a gift! Special thank you to EIC @erwinarroyo_poet for his keen editorial eye and appreciation of this poem. #poetry #poetrycommunity #indiepress #motherhoodpoem

What a special treat. My little poetry book was recommended by Rachel Turney! ❤️❤️

https://www.turneytalks.com / @turneytalks

This is what she wrote and I’m super chuffed:

I recently procured a copy of Sylvie Greil’s Take Fountain as part of an Instagram giveaway. What a delight! I am not a big L.A. girlie myself, though I spent some time there in my 20s. What I do understand and connect with is poetry rooted in place and particularly cities. In my new series, I find one of my pieces that I feel matches the tone of your poem or write something completely new after your piece.
Sylvie - you are my first Your Poem…My Poem pick and I chose your piece “Neighbors” from your book Take Fountain and my piece “Getting to Know the New Neighbors” from my debut book Record Player Life (the b-side) with The Poetry Lighthouse.
