In September, Zach and I made our annual pilgrimage to New York City ... the greatest city in the world. (Followed swiftly by Tokyo.) We had great success in entering Broadway lotteries and with some super deals during Broadway Week. This is my epic run of 19 shows in 17 days!

I enjoyed everything! I'm a theatre nerd, as you may have guessed. I am also working on a play about my brother and family bonds, which I hope will be my next great adventure. Send tips and places to submit a short play. 🙏🏼 🎭 ☕ by @turneytalks

During my annual pilgrimage to NYC I found homes for some of my projects! Thank you to @codexbooks for stocking my zines: Women Making Soup Together and After (a new project). Village Works carries Women Making Soup Together and my book Record Player Life (the b-side). I also traded a copy of my debut poetry and shorts collection for a jar of pickles over at @sweetpicklebooks ! 🥒 😋 Huge thanks to @quimbysbookstorenyc for stocking my zine and my last hardback copy from the first print run of Retired Wannabe Club Kid. The books can also be found in Poets House, a poetry library. @poets_house ❤️ 📚

It's an honor and joy to share these collections in a city with such limited space! Thank you to all of those above for giving my little projects a chance in The Big City! @thepoetrylighthouse @parlyaree by @turneytalks

Women Making Soup Togehter has also been added to the expansive and inspiring chapbook collection. 📚

I receive unconditional support from my number one fan and legally binded partner lol, Zach Stewart. Here we are with the cover I shot of him on The Fool’s World, which we found in Poets House! @thefools.world taken in Poets House by @turneytalks

One year ago The Poetry Lighthouse announced their first cohort of published authors! This was the first book I ever submitted and the first press I submitted to! I haven’t been as lucky since lol, but this book was clearly meant for The Poetry Lighthouse. Record Player Life (the b-side), a collection of poetry and shorts, is about daily life, slowing down, the mundane reimagined through surrealism, travel, love, and music (and also murder lol). Order the book through your local bookstore or request it to be stocked at your library. Thank you for all of the amazing support for my first collection. It means a lot to have friends and family jump into my odd little mind. 🧠

What an honor to be published alongside Sofia Perez with her beautiful translated poetry (French and English), Emilie Galindo with her unique take on Earthly observations, and Pat Farrington with her contemplative nature collection.

The Poetry Lighthouse has started releasing their second cohort of authors! Keep an eye out for those collections and into 2027 for new global poetry!

A huge thanks to Village Works for stocking my books in the greatest city in the world. It's a dream come true. I had a really nice chat with them about reclaiming spaces which is what my chapbook Women Making Soup Together is all about. I dropped off Record Player Life (the b-side) about daily life and the now, too. How I got to NYC without more copies of Club Kid is evidence of my amazing chaos lol. My art sees your art, Village Works. ❤️ 🍎 📚 😁 🙏🏼 taken in Village Works by @turneytalks

One year ago 9/18/25 my second poetry collection found love and acceptance at her perfect home: Parlyaree Press! This is an unusual collection, and I scoured the indie scene to find the right fit. I couldn’t be happier with the opportunity and attention Andrew Baker and his team have given this little weirdo collection of autobiographical EDM poems and shorts about my previous life as an international party girl. @parlyaree 🪩 🎵 🌎

Thank you to all who answered my call to get the book into your local library. Please ask a librarian how to request that Retired Wannabe Club Kid be stocked at your library. This is important because the book deals with divergent topics and rejection of labels. I hope that in sharing my story, other little lost odds will find that they are not alone.

Thank you also to all of those who have reviewed the collection. If you have the time to leave a quick GoodReads, Amazon, StoryGraph review that is very helpful because that exposure supports the press and me.

Big shout-outs to:
The Morgue Literary Magazine, who interviewed me about this book. Read the interview in the awesome graphic collection: Autopsy Four.
Thanks to Dipity Literary for featuring the book on their 2026 Fall Reading List.
Umbrella Factory Magazine for the feature.
Dear Booze for printing pieces from this collection.

Lakeside @lakesidebookslg
Little Blue Pigeon @littlebluepigeonbooks
Westside @westsidebooksdenver
Old FIrehouse @oldfirehousebooks
Boulder Bookshop @boulderbookstore for Reading Den event @reading__den
Inkberry @inkberrybooks
NKollectiv @nkollectiv

Thank you all, and may you always be in the music.

The Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971 protects equids as living historical symbols. The wild horses pictured here are the living art of the Wyoming landscape. Art is all around us, and this photograph captures interacting with and protecting life and art as inseparable concepts.
