MFCEO PROJECT — EPISODE 168: OBSTACLES ARE OPPORTUNITIES.

Some people hear a podcast. Others hear something that changes the way they approach life.

Years ago, @andyfrisella had a YouTube video with the audio from this episode clipped into it. I would put it on repeat while jumping rope for 20 minutes straight or during my max deadlifting sessions.

I listened to every episode of the MFCEO Project until I found #168. And once I found it, something clicked.

I can't explain what this episode does to me mentally. But I've noticed something over the years.

Every time I'm about to enter a new chapter in life, I find myself needing to hear it again.

Student loan debt. Building businesses. Developing patents. Financial setbacks. Raising my boys. And one of the hardest experiences of my life, caring for my father through his final days.

Wiping my father's ass and my son's ass in the same day permanently changed how I look at life, time, and mortality.

It changed what success means to me.

I don't want to build an empire just to say I built one. I want the freedom to spend more of my life with the people I already love.

And somewhere along this journey, Andy's message about obstacles becoming opportunities took on an entirely different meaning.

I recently went looking for that old YouTube clip again. Gone.

I even tried getting iTunes to play the episode on my Android. No luck.

I signed up for Andy's Operator Standard thinking maybe I'd finally be able to listen to #168 again.

Turns out, I got more than I expected. A whole new environment with Operator Standard, Arcane AI, and new MFCEO material to learn from.

But I still needed to hear that one episode.

So I dug out my old iPad just to listen to MFCEO168 again.

That's how much this episode means to me.

I'm currently building and working toward selling my patents, developing products, writing books, and trying to create a future where my family's time isn't dictated by my financial obligations.

And once again, at the beginning of another chapter, here I am listening to the same episode that helped shape my mindset years ago.

Forty years of inversion tables, and the basic consumer lesson is still basically the same:
strap in → fall backward → hang for a few minutes → come back up.
That’s why I call it the 3–5 minute trust-fall method.
The physics of unloading the spine are real. What blows my mind is how little the curriculum around the tool has evolved.
My BEGINNER Tummy Table work starts at 15 minutes—and there are already two different beginner paths:
Practitioner: a structured 15-minute Bailey Reset, including guided positioning and manual pulling.
At home: a separate 15-minute beginner progression focused more on active participation, core engagement, breathing, and controlled movement.
That’s beginner level.
Not an advanced session.
Not the full curriculum.
The starting point.
I’m not claiming gravity changed.
I’m saying after four decades, maybe the way we teach people to use gravity should have.
Same physics. Better participation. Bigger potential.

@moonshotarizona pitch competition this weekend. This was going to be my opening storyline had i made it on @sharktankabc
Nothing changed with Tummy Table but it is a recovery series now. The goal is to become the @onepeloton of the recovery world not just replace the inversion table industry

When is the last time you played in the mud?
Not watched your kids do it.
Not told them, “Be careful.”
Actually got down there with them.
My first reaction was the adult one:
“Ew. Mud. I need to wash my hands.”
Rules. Clean clothes. Don’t make a mess. Get cleaned up.
And somewhere along the way, I realized I had become so good at being an adult that I had forgotten how to be a kid.
My boys are teaching me that again.
This is why i volunteered us at the ranch.
Sometimes the lesson isn’t about discipline, work, recovery, patents, or building something bigger.
Sometimes the lesson is:
Get dirty. Laugh. Stay there a little longer.
Because these are the moments I’m going to miss someday.
And that’s a huge part of why I want to sell my patents.
Not to stop working.
To stop missing life while I’m working.
I want more time to be their dad while they’re still little enough to ask me to play in the mud.

Everyone loves to say “no system works alone.”
Then we separate everything:
Inflamed nerve? Nervous system.
Swelling? Lymphatic system.
Bruising? Circulatory system.
“Knot”? Muscle.
Restriction? Fascia.
Cool.
But the body never got that memo.
Take an arm bar.
As the elbow is driven into hyperextension, the joint capsule and ligaments are strained, muscles and tendons brace, nerves are tensioned, blood vessels can be stressed, and injured tissue can create swelling that the lymphatic system now has to manage.
Think of it like pulling a bundle of hoses and cables tighter and tighter.
At first they tolerate the load.
Keep pulling and eventually something gets irritated, something leaks, something loses signal, or something tears.
That’s Fluid Integrity.
Not four isolated problems.
One mechanical event. One body. Multiple systems responding at the same time.
If we really believe everything is connected, maybe we should start looking at injury like it is.

*repost to fix my grid*
Lymphatic System 101: not every problem is a kink. Sometimes the hose gets pulled too far.
That “water hose” analogy still works — with one correction:
Lymphatic vessels aren’t rigid hoses. They’re thin, flexible, low-pressure vessels built to deform with movement.
But take a joint into a hard hyperextension — an arm bar, ankle roll, knee going past its normal range — and the surrounding tissues can get overstretched and irritated.
Then the environment changes:
Tissue strain → inflammation → more fluid enters the area → swelling increases → drainage has more work to do.
If the injury is significant enough, small blood vessels and lymphatic vessels can also be damaged. Add pain and guarding, and now the muscle contractions that normally help pump lymph may decrease too.
So instead of a kink stopping flow, think:
Too much stretch can damage the container and overload the drainage system.
That’s the other side of Fluid Integrity.
Compression can restrict flow.
Hyperextension can create tissue strain, swelling, and impaired cleanup.
Different mechanical problem. Same four systems forced to adapt.

Teeter has been doing inversion since 1981 — and its current instructions still work people toward roughly 3–5 minute sessions.

That still blows my mind.

I told a patent attorney once: it’s basically a seesaw. There are only so many ways you can fall backward on one. 😂

And because Teeter became the Apple of inversion tables, most of the industry followed the same basic blueprint.

Meanwhile, my beginner Tummy Table session is 15 minutes.

Not 15 minutes of “hang there and hope.”

A structured session I can teach another qualified bodyworker to deliver as the Bailey Reset.

That’s the part people keep missing.

I’m not just building another inversion table.

I’m building curriculum, session structure, practitioner training, and a model that can scale beyond my own hands.

3–5 minutes became the industry norm.
15 minutes is my starting point.

And this is still only the beginning.
