Teeter has been doing inversion since 1981 — and its current instructions still work people toward roughly 3–5 minute sessions.

That still blows my mind.

I told a patent attorney once: it’s basically a seesaw. There are only so many ways you can fall backward on one. šŸ˜‚

And because Teeter became the Apple of inversion tables, most of the industry followed the same basic blueprint.

Meanwhile, my beginner Tummy Table session is 15 minutes.

Not 15 minutes of ā€œhang there and hope.ā€

A structured session I can teach another qualified bodyworker to deliver as the Bailey Reset.

That’s the part people keep missing.

I’m not just building another inversion table.

I’m building curriculum, session structure, practitioner training, and a model that can scale beyond my own hands.

3–5 minutes became the industry norm.
15 minutes is my starting point.

And this is still only the beginning.

Body workers want to work on bodies but don't even know how their own body's work.šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø
I’ve said this for years: massage therapists should train jiu-jitsu.
Not because therapists need to fight—but because jiu-jitsu forces you to learn something a massage table can’t fully teach:
How to work with another human body while that body is moving.
Balance. Base. Grip strength. Leverage. Weight transfer. Positioning. Adaptation. Knowing where another body can move—and where it can’t.
And yes, learning how to break a body gives you a pretty interesting education in how to reverse-engineer that knowledge toward protecting, moving, and working with one. šŸ˜‚
So when the first clip ends with a therapist losing her balance during a stretch…and cuts to actual jiu-jitsu:
Maybe the answer isn’t another modality.
Maybe it’s learning how to move with another human outside the massage room.
Don’t just treat bodies. Understand them.

I believed in self-myofascial release before I ever had a product to sell.

My first real experience came after a Muay Thai fight when my leg was swollen, bruised, and barely bending. The options were basically a soft foam roller… or straight PVC pipe.

The soft roller helped.

So naturally, 22-year-old me thought:

ā€œIf soft helped, harder must help more.ā€ šŸ˜‚

The PVC hurt like hell—but when I stood up, I could move better again.

That moment shaped how I approached recovery from then on.

Dumbbells. Kettlebells. Soup cans. Balls. Rollers. Whatever gave me the pressure and leverage I was looking for, I experimented with it.

Then massage school pushed me even further toward deep tissue, trigger point, and sports work.

I’ve always been practical that way.

I want to feel the tissue change.
I want movement to change.
I want something I can test and reassess.

That’s where my SMR obsession started.

Long before the books. Long before the products.

This video is a small look at the curriculum behind the foam rollers without giving away the parts I’m protecting.
I read through a lot of the chapter structure, talked about the four-shape system, and why I believe the education matters just as much as the product itself.
And to be clear: if someone buys me out, this is all or nothing.
They’re not just buying a patent.
They’re getting the products, curriculum, books, teaching material, and the content ecosystem built around it.
I don’t want to spend the next 20 years protecting one idea.
I want to sell it, hand over the machine, and go build the next one.
The final two prototypes should be wrapping up soon. If everything stays on track, I’m hoping to be in a position to start taking orders by the end of October.
This is finally getting close.

Coach @juantatum introduced me to the legend of the Kappa which is a turtle like human. Don't disrespect them

Meet the Kappa — a turtle-like creature from Japanese folklore.
Known for strength, discipline, mischief, and one very important weakness:
the water held in the bowl on its head.
Keep the water, keep the power.
Lose the water, lose the fight.
A strange little legend with a surprisingly good lesson:
Respect your balance. Protect what keeps you strong.

Lymphatic system 101: what happens when the body takes a hit?
You fall. Get the wind knocked out of you. Take a hard body shot. Get twisted up in training.
Even without a major injury, the body responds fast:
Impact → local irritation → fluid shifts → immune activity → cleanup.
Small vessels can leak more fluid into the surrounding tissue. The lymphatic system helps collect that excess fluid, cellular debris, and immune material and return it to circulation.
At the same time, pain and guarding can change how you breathe and move — and because lymph flow depends partly on muscle contraction, pressure changes, and breathing, that can change the local environment too.
That’s why I keep coming back to Fluid Integrity:
The body doesn’t experience an impact one system at a time.
Circulation reacts.
Nerves react.
Fascia reacts.
Lymph reacts.
One event. Four systems. One body trying to restore balance.

Remember when Apple removed the headphone jack… then sold you adapters to get the function back?
That’s what keeps running through my head when I look at the inversion-table industry.
Teeter moved toward a rigid, sliding backrest—and today sells a Comfort Cushion for added padding and a Lumbar Bridge for adjustable lower-back support. Those are real products in their current lineup. ļæ½

My question is simpler:
Why do we keep adding accessories to the same basic inversion concept instead of reconsidering the concept itself?
Strap in. Lean back. Let gravity pull. Repeat.
Meanwhile, the research on lumbar traction itself remains mixed, with some evidence of short-term benefit in certain populations but much less certainty about durable results. ļæ½

I’m not anti-Teeter. I’ve spent years using inversion tables.
That’s exactly why I think the industry can do better.
Stop decorating the old answer.
Start asking whether there’s a better one.

Here’s the part that keeps jumping out at me:

Look at my collection. Then look at the shelves.

Different textures. Different densities. Balls, rollers, knobs, wheels, weights…

But somehow self-myofascial release keeps getting funneled back into the same basic idea.

That’s what happens when an industry keeps modifying the existing runway instead of asking whether it needs a new runway altogether.

And remember—foam rolling is only one form of self-myofascial release.

That distinction matters.

I’m not trying to make another version of what’s already sitting on the shelf.

I’m trying to expand what people think SMR can be.

I’ll leave it there for now. šŸ‘½

A lot of bodyworkers start MMA/BJJ as a hobby. I tried and wanted more than anything to make a living in that arena. When I learned how to break a body it was to hurt you. In that cage it was you or me and I never wanted it to be me. This is different than a bodyworker who does it as a hobby just learning techniques. There's that edge/intention behind it. One major thing i believe in the massage energy arena is intention. I can dig deep comfortably because I know exactly what it takes to hurt someone and other end exactly what it takes to fix someone.

Everybody wants to build the ā€œone-stop recovery shop.ā€

So they hire a massage therapist.
A trainer.
A mobility coach.
Someone for foam rolling.
Someone for breathing.
Someone for recovery gadgets.
Someone else to ā€œconnect the dots.ā€

Meanwhile, I spent years bouncing through those industries and accidentally became the one-stop staff.

That’s also why I don’t look at a ā€œknotā€ through one profession’s rulebook.

Massage sees one thing.
Training sees another.
PT sees another.
Chiro sees another.

Same body. Same tissue. Different language.

And somehow everybody is convinced their timer, tool, or technique is the magic one.

I’m less interested in defending the industry I came from.

I’m interested in figuring out what the body actually needs.

Because a one-stop shop is only useful if somebody inside it can see the whole system.
