27th July 2024 Got my Carbon bonnet sound deadening panel fit today. Iโ€™ll be honest I havenโ€™t made my mind up about it. Driving around with seat covers, rubber mats and a rattling dog cage in the back makes it easy to forget how cool it is when cleanโ€ฆ.. 6th November 2023 Well thatโ€™s 5 years of ownership today. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Iโ€™ve achieved so much more than I ever intended or expected in that time with this van. 14 awards and 5 magazine features, for something that was built with my own hands is just crazy, and all whilst continuing to use it as a daily run dog van. Really grateful for all the interest and comments Iโ€™ve received about the van, especially the support from the @caddy2k.comforum. I always think itโ€™s hard for modern commercial vehicles to do well/standout against โ€œnormal carsโ€ such as all the classic golfs etc out there, even though vans generally need so many more upgrades just to get them level with the stock factory cars. True story. I remember a certain individual actually laughing and saying โ€œyouโ€™re f๐Ÿซฅ๐Ÿซฅked thenโ€ because I wouldnโ€™t lower my standards and loom swap it with a MK7 golf loom. Never gave up, and with help from @doc_caddy2k @twinsport @nikki_dawson we were able to fully integrate the EA888.3 into PQ platform Caddy. No loom swaps, no compromised fuel system, no steering rack/modified subframe swaps, no IMMO off, and itโ€™s original VIN in its ECU. Everything as it would be from the factory, zero corners cut what so ever.
