Meet Twist Fire! 🧨
@twist_fire

A Berlin staple but originally from California via Jersey, Twist Fire is a DJ connecting the classic eras of house and disco to the prismatic global sounds of today. From Frankie Knuckles to Leonce to Mbene Diatta Seck she finds unity in the grooves and the emotions they can unlock. 💏

It was three years ago, at Luigi Di Venere’s party Maximum Joy, that Joe heard her play for the first time, and more recently she’s been booked by Daytimers and MIAAN Nights 🥵 as well as warming up for James Blake and going on tour with KABEAUSHÉ.

Committed to vinyl but a fan of mixing it with digital, of late she has been levelling up her turntablist skills for extra flair. This Friday she’ll be giving us the consummate closing we all deserve.

Welt Discos is on Friday 3 April at @arkaodaberlin !

One Year of Pastiche 🏠
Come join us 4th / 5th April for a magical weekender in celebration of one year of Pastiche on this planet. We will be hosting a two day mini-fest consiting of wonderful DJ sets throughout both days, street food, Sunday record fair and a special evening concert on Saturday (Line up / tickets in BIO)

We want to thank you for what has been a mind-blowing first year. From what began as a listening series in 2022 spawned an idea and crew that transformed two empty rooms into the home we now call Pastiche. We never envisioned such a response of love and support. Come and celebrate with us this month as we put one year of Pastiche on the map.

LINE UP & TICKETS VIA OUR WEBSITE

Entry to our weekender will be free during the day until 19:30 for all guests.

Also a BIG thank you to the amazing family we have here who make the whole project possible, you know who you are!

Alex Sourbis (@alexalexsrbs)

Co-founder of cosy Brussels dance party @clubsiblings, Alex’s take on dance music is as particular as it is expansive. Angular bass melts into slinky house and back again in cogent style, encouraging shifts in perspective. He’ll set the stage for the night.

+++

Nick Kagame (@nickkagame)

Over the years, Nick’s elusive Manchester party Dust Off has welcomed guests like Kiernan Laveaux, Ben UFO and Gwenan, and Nick sits comfortably alongside those artists as a DJ invested in the detail of what makes club music tick. He’ll be in charge of peaktime.

Our Annual Review 2025

We look back on a wonderfully diverse, yet challenging year. Like many, we felt the impact of cuts in the cultural sector. Under our annual theme “Handle (with) Care”, four exhibitions explored the ambiguities and often overlooked aspects of care.

The spring exhibition "If my neighbour is okay, I’m okay" reflected on the Bärenzwinger’s harsh architecture, while the summer exhibition "This, too, is a way of keeping each other close" explored mourning and remembrance as forms of care, especially for marginalized groups. In autumn, "Politics of Being Heard" tackled inclusion, accessibility, and institutional responsibility—another challenge in this historic, barrier-filled building. The year concludes with "Relations in Place" (on view until 25/1/26), which examines how spaces embody the social, political, and affective forces that structure our ways of living together.

Two highlights of the year were the Bärenzwinger’s debut as a stage during Fête de la Musique and the launch of the new art education format Sunday Art Makers (SAM), which will continue next April.

A huge thank you to all artists, partners, team members, and visitors who made 2025 so vibrant. We can’t wait to welcome you in 2026. First up is "Louder, Taller, Uglier, Weirder – Learning from Weeds / Von Unkraut lernen", a curatorial project by @anais_senli @lopecado @sf__pan & @sylv_inski in collaboration with galleries across Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Mitte, and Neukölln. The current exhibition runs until 11/1/26 at @kunstraumkreuzberg

What was your favorite moment at the Bärenzwinger in 2025? Share it with us in the comments!
