We’re excited to introduce you to @twist_fire! As a child of immigrants raised in New Jersey, 40 mins from NYC & then moving to The City That Never Sleeps in her early 20s, she mixes the sounds/noise of her own varied identity & the ones she was exposed to growing up in a melting pot of cultures. What to expect? Twist Fire sasses her way through the different flavours of dance music: club, weird, & global groove connecting the dots between the sonics of her life.

Come join us in the lush greenhouse floor of Kreuzwerk to close out your public holiday celebrations, it’s community after party after all 😘 taken in Berlin, Germany by @twist_fire

DJ’ed the closing set last weekend at the @weltdiscos label party here in Berlin hosted by the big man @joedelon & recorded this mix full of the tracks/vibes from my set: dubby, clubby, & proggy - slowed down 4am hazeee - a day later at home across 2 CDJS, 2 turntables, and a big ass mixerrr. Was super fun!

(Loose Rhythms was a radio show I put on 3 shows of during Covid and am now continuing it with this mixxx.)

Mix is up on SoundCloud & soon YouTube - links via bio, darlings! 💋💋💋 taken in Berlin, Germany by @twist_fire

Meet Twist Fire! 🧨
@twist_fire

A Berlin staple but originally from California via Jersey, Twist Fire is a DJ connecting the classic eras of house and disco to the prismatic global sounds of today. From Frankie Knuckles to Leonce to Mbene Diatta Seck she finds unity in the grooves and the emotions they can unlock. 💏

It was three years ago, at Luigi Di Venere’s party Maximum Joy, that Joe heard her play for the first time, and more recently she’s been booked by Daytimers and MIAAN Nights 🥵 as well as warming up for James Blake and going on tour with KABEAUSHÉ.

Committed to vinyl but a fan of mixing it with digital, of late she has been levelling up her turntablist skills for extra flair. This Friday she’ll be giving us the consummate closing we all deserve.

$In addition to the sold-out album launch show at Lido, @roughtradeneukoelln / @roughtrade will be hosting a James Blake DJ Set for ‘Trying Times’ @princecharlesberlin on Tuesday, 17th March. I’ll be opening the evening! Timetable is as follows: 8 PM - 10 PM @twist_fire 10 PM - 11 PM @jamesblake 11 PM - 1 AM @localsuicide ー English producer, songwriter, and musician James Blake returns with ‘Trying Times’, his seventh studio album and first fully independent release. Written between London and Los Angeles, the album confronts the turbulence of the last several years - global unrest, fractured discourse, and personal reckonings while searching for empathy, connection, and love amid chaos. Available on 2 LP Gatefold Vinyl and CD. taken in Prince Charles by @twist_fire$
