Spent the morning working on marketing for a new listing at one of our favorite local spots—Twisted Tree Baking Company 🥐✨

This place is as cute as it gets, with the perfect little outdoor area to sit, sip coffee, and actually enjoy your work for once. Everything is homemade—breads, pies, cookies, scones, cinnamon rolls, donuts… the kind of place where you walk in for one thing and leave with five.

We tried the cinnamon croissant and a lemon blueberry donut, and yeah… both were worth it.
If you’re in downtown Edmond, this one’s a must-stop.

Our owners Robert Black and Lori Dickinson-Black were honored to be a part of the City of Edmond’s new video celebrating the history, character, and community spirit of Downtown Edmond.

For generations, residents have gathered along its historic streets to shop, enjoy local entertainment, dine at longtime establishments, and create memories that continue to shape the city’s identity.

From restaurants and shops to public art and historic buildings, Downtown Edmond offers more than a place to do business. It is a place to pause, gather, and belong. The new video celebrates the area’s history while looking toward its continued evolution.

A photo memory popped up on my phone this morning and I immediately remembered this day. 🥹🍂

This time last year, a friend sent me a text. She was ready to start looking for a house, so I set up a custom search with her very specific wish list:

1–3 acres.
Edmond schools.
Lots of trees.
And a BIG front porch.

That afternoon we grabbed breakfast in Downtown Edmond - ☕️ lattes from the new fall menu at @ellisislandcoffee and butter croissants 🥐 from @twistedtreebakingcompany and went house shopping. We found one that just felt right. We walked through talking about where furniture would go, where everyone would gather and, most importantly, exactly where the Christmas tree would go. 🎄

A little over a month later, she sent me a picture.

Her family. In that house. Decorating their Christmas tree in the EXACT spot we had imagined that afternoon. 🥹

That’s my favorite part of real estate. It’s never really about finding a house. It’s about finding the place where your life is going to happen.

And with the holidays coming, maybe there’s a house you’ve been imagining too.

My heart is SO FULL!

Never in a million years did I think I’d be able to say I competed against 12 other remarkable bakers in the 4th Annual Twisted Tree Bakery Cookie Competition. Especially only 10 weeks after starting my baking journey. I didn’t place, and though I am extremely competitive, I am just honored to say I was in the room. Maybe they will have me back next year…

Major THANKS to @michaela.st.germaine for telling me I was talented enough to apply, and to my girls for showing up on game day.

Thank you endlessly to @chef_black and @twistedtreebakingcompany for allowing me to be a part of your event. It feels pretty awesome to have the support of an industry pro this early in my journey!

Thank you, thank you, to my family. My husband for letting me chase my dreams while holding it down for our boys. My parents for always being my biggest cheerleaders and helping me set up for this event. You raised me to be creative and it has always proven to be a useful skill.

End of the day, what an incredible experience!! It was so worth it to share my story and cookies with a room full of strangers. Kids who give me a thumbs up (they’re the real critics), and watching eyes roll in the back-or the nod of approval…all of it was so worth it!! I hope to see many familiar faces at my cookie cart moving forward. 🍪🩷

I WON THE TWISTED TREE BAKERY COOKIE COMPETITION!!

Honestly, I’m still trying to process that I can even say that.

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. There have been so many good moments, but there have also been some really hard ones, and I truly don’t think I would be where I am today without the people who have continued to believe in me and encourage me along the way.

Starting Sugar Crumbz has brought me so many opportunities that I never expected. Every order, market, event, new connection, and new experience has taught me something and pushed me a little further outside of my comfort zone. Looking back, it’s crazy to see how all of those little opportunities have led me to where I am now.

Being able to participate in the cookie competition with Twisted Tree Bakery Company was something I was genuinely so excited about. The company twisted tree bakery has so many great people who work there too, and they made this event so much fun! I had so much fun creating my cookie, putting all the little details together, and getting to be a part of something like this.

And the cookie that brought home the win was my Chocolate Snickerdoodle with a chocolate ganache drizzle! Chocolate on chocolate was definitely the way to go.

Winning makes this experience even more special, but honestly, just having the opportunity to participate was something I’m really grateful for.

This little business has become so much more than I ever imagined when I started it. There have been days where I’ve felt confident and days where I’ve questioned myself, but I’ve kept going, and I’m really proud of that.

So thank you to everyone who has ordered from me, shared my posts, recommended me to someone, encouraged me, supported my crazy ideas, or simply cheered me on. It truly means more than I can put into words.

I’m so grateful for where this journey has taken me so far, and I’m really excited to see where it takes me next.

Late post but lemme pyo some super sick independent shops down south (Wichita to Austin)

@moneyruinseverything is the SICKEST skate shop in OKC and you def need to check them out. We got super lucky and went during one of their huge sales but still spent way too much money lolol

@ravenbooksbcs inside of @nansblossomshop in Bryan has the best vibe!! They’re super spooky and have really good priced books hehe

@kerosene_wichita is so sick and their shop cat is even sicker. Shoutout to them for the shop shirt bc it’s my new fav work shirt it’s the BEST

@twistedtreebakingcompany is the shit if you’re trying to get some good breakfast

Yall already know to hit up @the_ravens_nook_bookshop in Waco, they’re the SPOT for horror / thriller fans
