POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We visited a workspace that feels as welcoming as a home – or is it a home that functions as a workspace?

In Westminster, overlooking a landscaped square, stands a Georgian-style building designed by Matthew Brettingham the Elder, an architect known for revolutionising the design of large urban stately homes. Built between 1748 and 1751, the building now serves as an office. A transformation that brings together a series of firsts, revealing boldness and originality.

The inspiration comes from across the Atlantic. Alexa Lameiras and Katelyn Pascavis – from the Los Angeles-based practice @twomusestudios – took on the challenge, fascinated by the historic character of the site and motivated by the desire to materialise their vision of a workspace incorporating residential elements.

A project where memory and identity intersect to redefine new stages for human activity, crossing continents and challenging established notions.

A energia surge do outro lado do Atlântico.

Yes, yes, TV’s are an eyesore. But let’s be real, most of our nights are spent around them - so you got to make em work, hunny!

In addition to proportions, we also leaned into utilizing contrast by color drenching the adjacent room in a deep charcoal. That move was key as it ensured the TV wasn’t the only dark element on an otherwise white wall. Instead, when you look toward the living room, your eye reads two darker moments: the screen itself and the depth of the adjoining space.

The result is a more dynamic composition. The TV ties into the overall palette rather then standing apart, and becomes an elemental part of an overall visually layered experience.

Thank you @housebeautiful for including our project as design inspo!
