Miguel Lugo was nine when the streets claimed him as a gang member. Later, facing a life sentence, he became honest with himself and told the whole truth.

Genius Trait #5 of 24: HONESTY.

"Geniuses are frank, forthright and honest. Take the responsibility for things that go wrong. Be willing to admit, 'I goofed,' and learn from your mistakes." Dr. Alfred Barrios

Having rebuilt his own life, he now helps other former gang members put their lives back together. To a lot of young men who grew up on the same streets he did, Miguel is the first living proof they have ever seen that a life can be turned around, and that a way out is real.

The man who pulled him into the gang was sitting across the desk. He thought Miguel had come for revenge.

What Miguel did next tells you everything about who he had become.

Genius Trait #5 of 24: HONESTY.

“Geniuses are frank, forthright and honest. Take the responsibility for things that go wrong. Be willing to admit, ‘I goofed,’ and learn from your mistakes.” - Dr. Alfred Barrios

When Miguel Lugo walked out of prison, he was lost. The tattoos told everyone where he had been. Nobody would hire him. The only life he knew was the one he was trying to leave.

He showed up at @homeboyindustries to pick up the pieces: remove the tattoos, learn a trade, build an honest life. Then he walked into a counselor’s office and found himself face to face with the man who had indoctrinated him into his former gang. The man panicked, certain Miguel was there for vengeance. Miguel smiled and embraced him. No ill will. He knew forgiveness was the only path forward.

Redemption starts with honesty. Miguel rebuilt his life by owning every part of his story, and today he helps men coming home from prison do the same.

Who is one person you could forgive this week?

This is Forrest’s world.

Giant Galapagos tortoises, venomous snakes, and great white sharks.

Behind the scenes with @forrest.galante, years of hard-earned knowledge reveal themselves in the smallest details. He reads what others might miss: a shift in an animal’s behavior, the signals that invite a closer look, and the ones that tell you when it’s time to step back.

For our crew @txlfilms , the shoot became a front-row seat to Forrest’s world, from reptiles on land to heading out on his boat and meeting an actual great white in the ocean.

This is KNOWLEDGE, not just knowing the facts, but knowing what they mean when it matters.

Swipe to go behind the scenes of Genius Trait #4.

Which animal would you want Forrest to take you into the wild to see?

Watch Forrest’s full story in our latest Reel and follow us for more true stories every Wednesday on @geniusworldinc 🌍

Seven summits. One extraordinary goal. And a story years in the making.

Behind the scenes of Genius Trait #3 of 24: DEVOTION TO GOALS, featuring @rubenpayanjr.

Ruben set out to climb the highest peak on every continent, a goal that demanded years of preparation, discipline, setbacks and the decision to keep going anyway.

By the time we sat down to film his story, he had already stood on those summits.

These BTS moments take you inside the filming process, from Ruben sharing the journey in his interview to capturing him back in his element at an indoor climbing gym.

The mountains may be behind him, but the mindset that got him there is still very much present.

That is DEVOTION TO GOALS.

Thank you to the @txlfilms crew and everyone behind the camera who helped bring Ruben’s story to the screen.

Watch his full story in our latest reel.

Most people who come that close to a Sea Snake immediately pull back. Not Forrest Galante.

And that’s no accident. It’s the result of a life spent studying the world’s most venomous and deadly snakes and reptiles.

Forrest has spent years learning to identify which ones actually pose a real threat and which ones only appear like they do.

This hard won knowledge isn’t just one lucky guess in the field. It’s thousands of hours of work and research before the camera ever turns on. Books. Fieldwork. Trial and error long before getting it right on screen.

That is KNOWLEDGE. Genius Trait #4 of 24.

Swipe to meet Forrest. What’s something you used to fear before you understood it?

Only about 500 people on Earth have stood on the top of every continent.

Ruben Payan Jr. is one of them. It started with a list.

Everest. Kilimanjaro. Denali. Aconcagua. Elbrus. Puncak Jaya. Vinson.

Add them up: 142,104 feet. That is 43,313 metres of mountain.

Ruben did not grow up on expeditions. He is a US Marine Corps veteran who decided in 2006 that all seven were the goal. In 2015 he stood on the last one.

Here is the part nobody posts. A goal like that is not one brave moment. It is nine years of ordinary ones. Early mornings. Training nobody sees. Choosing the list again on a random Tuesday when quitting would be easier.

That is DEVOTION TO GOALS. Genius Trait #3 of 24.

One of these seven is on your continent. Swipe, find yours, and tell us where you are watching from.

What makes someone step into the sky when every instinct tells them to stay on the ground?

Genius Trait 2 of 24: COURAGE.

“It takes courage to do things others consider impossible. Stop worrying what people will think if you are different.” - Dr. Alfred Barrios

Val Sobol 🦅 @vsobol03 has spent more than a decade wingsuiting, a sport where hesitation has consequences. The fear never disappeared. She simply learned not to let it make the decision.

Now she helps others find the courage to move toward their own edge, rather than away from it.
