@tykeim_ studies industrial design at RMIT and contributes to the design team at @boomstudios. His work moves across purpose-driven design, fashion, and sculpture, centred on objects that relate to and interact with the human form. Drawing on Malay heritage alongside industrial aesthetics, Tyke explores the dialogue between cultural memory and contemporary making.

Wowee, thanks to everyone who came along to celebrate the book & exhibition launch of PAUSE by @chris_middlebrook last Friday! This was such a special way to round out an incredible year of programming we are very proud of at HVG ❣️

Big thanks to our favourite local band ECSR for the impromptu rain-swept performance out the front of the gallery!! Magic!!

I’VE HAD SOME HELP ALONG THE WAY, ZARA FOR HELPING ME GET THE PERFECT FIRST SAMPLE TO BASE ALL THE OTHER PIECES ON, YOU TOOK WHAT WAS IN MY BRAIN AND MADE IT PERFECT, CAMPBELL FOR BRINGING MY VISION OF THE POP UP SPACE TO LIFE IN RENDER WORLD WITH YOUR INSANSE SHORTCUT KNOWLEDGE, NAVIN FOR TRUSTING THE PROCESS AND DONATING YOUR PERSONAL JERSEYS AND ROCKING THEM PRE EVENT, TYKE FOR DESIGNING THE POP-UP MIRRORED WASHING MACHINE EXACTLY HOW I WANTED IT WITH SOME EXTRA ATTENTION TO DETAIL, RYAN AND BOOM STUDIOS FOR THE BUILD OF THE POP-UP THAT WAS A STAND OUT AND WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED, SHAWN, YOUNG AND RICH AT SUPPLY FOR BELIEVING IN THE PROJECT AND ALLOWING IT TO APPEAR ON THE SURPLUS SCHEDULE, AND TO EVERYONE THAT CAME THROUGH, BOUGHT THE GARMENTS, AND SPREAD THE LOVE OF THE PROJECT, IT MEANS A LOT.
