*Jacob’s Trip*

This is an emergency broadcast
A request that you
Look deep into the minds eye
And hear a story
That can only be expressed sonically.

As the rhythms cascade
And phase,
Through varying scapes,
Chose to lose yourself
And surrender.
Only then will you be enlightened
By the exploration
Of varying aural vistas
Presented by a man described called Trip.

It amazes us every time.

New faces. Old faces. Friends we share and ones we are yet to make. People doing impactful work in this city that you may not know about, until you find yourself in the same room as them.

There was something in the air at this year’s edition. Joy, playfulness, connection. You came through the doors with not just curiosity to what was inside the ciné soirée, but pride that you were a part of it. The walls were covered in inner dialogue from artists not afraid to share their vision. Some may call it a distinct artistic accent. Otherwise known as scouse.

The work on the walls was coherent, elegant, and unmistakably of this place.

At one point I said I wasn’t sure what my art form is. But that room, filled with you, was a piece of art in itself.

If I can keep creating spaces where you come together and look as stunning as the work on the walls, I’ll keep scheming.

But I need your help in making these spots our own. So keep creating. keep supporting. keep platforming. let the connection come naturally.

We’ve tripled the room since we started, and we’re not going anywhere.

Thank you for making it special again.

*Pulsing Beat*

I lie within my city
And my city lies within me.

Here you can be
whoever you want to be
And I chose, Mr. Murray
What you hear and What you see
are two different things.
Day to day I see,
This metropolis,
coated in history,
A shifting labyrinth
That never sleeps.

They say home is where the heart is,
So It’s hard to describe its sound,
for I am but one pulse of millions
that make up the essence
of this concrete infinity
which sprawls in front of me
So instead
I’ll let my music speak
Use your mental stethoscope
and hear my interpretation of that beat
Through sounds that make me
move my feet.

This connection I feel
To music, to home
Runs deep
Truly it lets me be
Free.
