Super proud of this guy! He’s been a part of this group on his team for a few years now and this year he was given an “A”. He’s a glue guy that everyone loves. The comic relief in the room, but on the ice he’s the first one to stand up for his teammates if things get rough. Well deserved! #hockey #hockeylife #hockeyplayer #hockey🏒 #hockey4life

🚨 HISTORIC SIGNING 🚨

The Orangeville Blitz are proud to announce the first player signing in franchise history with the addition of Diego Da Silva (@905Puck).

Known by thousands across the hockey world through @905Puck, Diego has earned every opportunity through determination and hard work. Dubbed the “AA to OHL” kid, Diego’s journey is proof that there is no single path to success. After an impressive training camp, he earned an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Erie Otters, showing that dedication and perseverance open doors.

Now entering his overage season, Diego has chosen Orangeville to continue preparing for the professional ranks.

More than just adding a talented player, we’re adding a leader, a role model, and someone who shares our vision of building a first-class junior hockey program.

“After talking to Marco and the development staff, hearing more about Tyler Randell’s journey to the NHL with the Boston Bruins; Ben Thomson’s path to the New Jersey Devils, both local Orangeville players and role models, I knew this was a program I wanted to be part of,” said Da Silva.

“As an overage player, I’m looking for more than just ice time. I wanted a true pro-style environment that focuses on developing the complete player. The off-ice training, the mentality side of the game, and learning from people who’ve been there really stood out to me. Having Ben Fanelli, another Kitchener Ranger’s great, his company Heroic Minds and them being involved with the program was another huge reason I felt Orangeville was the right place for me. I believe this program will help prepare me for the next step in my career and my transition to pro hockey.”

Welcome to Orangeville, Diego 👊

The first signing in Orangeville Blitz Junior history.

This is only the beginning.

🚨🐟 WHO CAN PLAY IN THE OEHL? 🐟🚨

The Ontario Elite Hockey League (OEHL) isn’t just another senior league—it’s one of the most competitive Senior AA leagues in Ontario.

Under the OEHL’s player eligibility rules, teams are permitted to roster players from some of the highest levels of hockey, including:

🥇 Level 1
• NHL
• AHL
• ECHL
• European Professional Leagues
(2 potentially 3 players)

🥈 Level 2
• OHL
• WHL
• NCAA Division I & II
• SPHL
• FPHL
(Maximum 4 players)

🥉 Level 3
• U SPORTS (CIS)
• NCAA Division III
• Junior A
• Junior B
(Maximum 12 players)

🏒 Level 4
• Junior C
• GMHL and other eligible independent leagues
(Unlimited players)

This unique tiering system creates one of the highest-calibre Senior AA hockey experiences in Canada—where former professionals, major junior stars, NCAA athletes, and elite local talent compete together.

The Shelburne Muskies are actively recruiting as we pursue the J.F. Paxton Trophy Sr. AA Championship.

If you believe you belong at this level, we want to hear from you.
