“Why did I say yes to Echo Parliament?

Honestly, I love any opportunity to grow as an artist. You never really know when the last time you’ll get to dance will be, so I don’t take opportunities like this for granted.

This is also my first time being part of a dance company that’s not connected to a school, so stepping into this space feels like planting, and now nurturing, a new seed in my journey as an artist.

I’m also grateful for the chance to support Charles’ vision. He’s believed in me as a dancer, and I’ve always believed in him as a choreographer. It’s exciting to see his vision continue to grow, and I’m thankful to be part of bringing it to life.

I’m looking forward to creating, being challenged, and seeing how this experience helps me continue to grow.

Through research, collaboration, and movement creation, they help define the identity of each season while expanding the collective language of Echo Parliament.

The energy that professors, classmates, and performers brought to @acda.sc26 made it a magical experience. I’m so thankful for all the strangers that went out of their way to tell me how much @apolivieri ‘s “Together, Still” meant to them. And I’m so thankful to the rest of the cast for creating the caring environment where we felt safe to really feel this performance. Our efforts may not be memorialized in history, the same way they have tried to erase the efforts made by our queer ancestors, but we CAN make an impact on the people around us in our lifetime. The audience’s response to this piece was proof. Queers take care of each other! 🌈
