More Yellow-headed Blackbird content but I can’t get enough of these birds. Xanthocephalus xanthocephalus is this bird’s scientific name, which means yellow-headed! #birding #birdwatching #birdphotography

I wrote a kids’ book, and I need some help.

Gabby and I have been working on this book for over a year, and now that we’re coming to the end of the creative process, I would love any insight on where to go next. Obviously, I’ve looked up self-publishing on Amazon and everything else, but I thought it’d be a lot more helpful to get an actual human‘s opinion.

Gabby is such an amazing human and artist, and someone I’m beyond thankful to have met through my career at Bear Coast. It seems even more important and meaningful to be working with her on this in an age of AI image generation. When we started on this, ChatGPT and everything else were not what they are today. So… to have a real human behind this beautiful artwork means the world. And I think it brings a lot more life and sincerity to what we are doing.

So please share with anybody that might be able to help out, or just like and share this if you’re excited to also see some independent writing and artwork getting out there. I’m really proud of this and can’t wait to share more with you.

A Sonoran Whipsnake. These snakes are active during the day, with activity usually peaking around mid-morning. They are fast-moving and capable climbers, often retreating into trees when fleeing predation. They will grasp prey such as small lizards, frogs, snakes and rodents and eat before completely killing their quarry. This particular goofy individual retreated under a rock and stared out at us blankly, allowing for a photo. #herping #snake #birding

Some shots from our Global Big Day! I’ll have a video up on YouTube shortly detailing our adventure in South East Arizona. We got some amazing looks are exceptional species! I also had to include this Blue Grosbeak shot even though I don’t usually post feeder pics, but the lighting on this bird was too good to pass up. #birding #birdlife #birdwatching
