👋 Hello there!

There are quite a few new faces to this account, so I figured I would introduce myself!

My name is Gabby Holm, and I work as a wilderness guide and occasionally an artist on the road with my husband @wadeholm and our pet ball Python, Tulka. I am endlessly inspired by the natural world, and hope to be able to create art that helps people feel a sense of connection to it - from the grandeur of our National Parks, down to the plants and animals that might be in your backyard!

📍Currently, we are based in South Florida - so expect to see some Florida wildlife in my coming work!🐊

I am so grateful that so many people have found my work enjoyable, and I am excited and hopeful to create more of it to share with you all.

Thank you so much for being here!!!

🐦🌲NEW ARTWORK ALERT!🌲🐦
I'm so excited to share this one with you guys! This original hand-painted notebook is for sale! It includes some of my very favorite bird - more specifically, those in the corvid family - and tree species found in my very favorite places. All of the species illustrated can be found in Western montaine habitats, all the way up through the Pacific Coast.
🐦
Clockwise from the top, our birds are the Clark's Nutcracker, California Scrub Jay, Canada Jay, and Steller's Jay. In the same order, out tree friends include the California Live Oak, Lodgepole Pine, Common Juniper, and Whitebark Pine.
🐦
This is an 8x10 Cashier's notebook with blank pages. It's ready for your bird enthusiast friends to have as a gift, or for your own bird-lovin self, or whoever you want to share this with! It is an easy release as part of a collection I've been working on, due to release before the Holidays begin... stay tuned friends, and thank you for your support ❤

Come with me as I move through the stages of FOMO. Didn't think I'd be on such an emotional roller-coaster before 7 am. by @typacoo_draws

“But who’s illustrating the book?” Meet Gabby! Aka @typacoo_draws
It’s been my friendship with her that allowed me to even imagine this book coming to life. It was one thing to come up with a story... It’s a completely different thing to know that it’s in the hands of an illustrator who can embody so much joy for the outdoors in her work.

Gabby is rad. Can’t wait to share more.

I wrote a kids’ book, and I need some help.

Gabby and I have been working on this book for over a year, and now that we’re coming to the end of the creative process, I would love any insight on where to go next. Obviously, I’ve looked up self-publishing on Amazon and everything else, but I thought it’d be a lot more helpful to get an actual human‘s opinion.

Gabby is such an amazing human and artist, and someone I’m beyond thankful to have met through my career at Bear Coast. It seems even more important and meaningful to be working with her on this in an age of AI image generation. When we started on this, ChatGPT and everything else were not what they are today. So… to have a real human behind this beautiful artwork means the world. And I think it brings a lot more life and sincerity to what we are doing.

So please share with anybody that might be able to help out, or just like and share this if you’re excited to also see some independent writing and artwork getting out there. I’m really proud of this and can’t wait to share more with you.

✨🌎 Every day is earth day 🌎✨

Always and forever inspired by the beings we share our planet with. These are California Grunion, a special little fish that spawns the nights after full and new moons in the spring and summer months.

These lovely fish have inspired my most recent work on Ptre0n:)

Springtime desert magic.🌵✨

Making these little edits is such a fun art form. In these dark times, being outside in these areas we’ve long protected reminds me of what it is to be human. It reminds me why we must fight for our wild places, and the sacredness of all living things.

I genuinely despise partaking in the beasts that are algorithms and trends for a whole slew of reasons. This one is no different and a little weird (and cringe), but honestly, getting visibility as a slow creator on such a fast-paced platform is really difficult. So here’s this and if it welcomes you to my little corner of the internet, thanks for coming to check it out :) listing for this painting going up on my website soon!

🌊 🌵 The Blue-footed Booby! 🌵 🌊

These magnificent seabirds blend the two habitats that I love - the Sonoran Desert, a new-found friend, and the Pacific Ocean, an old and familiar one.

Living in the desert has been amazing so far. But as a marine bio major and ocean lover, I am definitely missing the waves these days. So to honor them both, I decided to paint this lovely and iconic seabird!

The original of this piece is up for sale now on my website. Prints will roll out soon! :)
