Today we spoke up for the horses at Eagle Farm Racecourse. Each year, gambling and alcohol companies reap hefty profits while we see the heartbreaking deaths and suffering of horses. All for the sake of a bet.
The horse racing industry bankrolls the two major parties into silence so their uneccessary festival of cruelty can continue.

There’s a new ramen spot in South Brisbane and its opening menu is fully vegan! 🌱 @danbolaboau

📍 South Brisbane, Brisbane 🌱 Vegan (for its opening menu)

From the team behind @ramendanboau, this new concept restaurant is located right next to their original shop. Danbo Labo is a “laboratory” with an evolving menu, and they’ve started with a focus on classic vegan ramen.

Given Ramen Danbo started in Fukuoka, which is the birthplace of Tonkotsu ramen, it’s not surprising that they go with the classic for their opening menu. Their opening menu is concise with 3 main types ($18.3 each):

🍜 Vegan Tonkotsu Ramen
🍜 Vegan Miso Tonkotsu Ramen
🍜 Vegan Negi-goma Ramen

You can also customise the spice level from not spicy (what I got because I’m bad with spicy food 😅) to extra spicy.

I tried the tonkotsu and negi-goma (spring onion & sesame seeds) ramen. The broth is pretty rich, creamy and reminds me of the ramen I had in Japan. The price is pretty decent at $18.30 for a bowl with good portion and 5 slices of atsuage tofu. The Hakata−style gyoza is $11.70 for 8 pieces is also solid.

Overall, if you’re looking for a classic, comforting bowl of vegan ramen that’s decently priced, I would recommend checking Danbo Labo out.

p.s. Even though the food menu is all vegan, not everything on the drink menu is vegan (the Calpico/Calpis is not vegan-friendly)

p.p.s. The concept for this restaurant involves an evolving menu, which means it may not stay vegan in the future.
