What an absolute honour to have led a vinyasa and sound healing yoga class for 28 beautiful vegan souls at the @farmanimalrescue camp out over the weekend 😍🙏🏽🧘🏻‍♀️

Feeling so very blessed and blissed.
Huge shoutout to Matt for reaching out to me and offering to play the majestic hand pan during the class, as well as to @brian_m_photography for taking these amazing shots! I feel they are so powerful and zen, means the world 🌍 to me to have this wonderful and supportive vegan community ❤️

I wrote “Yesterday” December 2013, I was 14 years old, and heartbroken 💔 I had an endless crush on a boy at school who played with my emotions. I would continue to sing this song throughout my life as it was the first song I ever fully wrote, and one I could constantly relate to. We were at a party, I picked up a ukulele and wrote it on the spot. We sat under the stars and we made a wish, I still remember - it did not come true.

This boy would tell me one day how much he liked me, write me letters, hold my hand, kiss me, dance with me… and then the next day he would act like I didn’t exist and ignore the shit out of me. This would continue for a year until he left Hong Kong. He apologized years later, and I forgave him - after all we were just kids - but the song stayed with me because I would continue to choose men that simply would not fully choose me.

So when I sing this song now, it’s just unrequited love compounded over the years. Choosing broken men I thought I could fix. Ones that would play with my heart like it’s a cheap toy. Never again ✌🏽 Yesterday can stay in yesterday.

I’m so excited to be teaching free yoga classes again now that it’s not freezing 🥶 in Brisbane!

Particularly honoured to be back at the @qldveganmarkets as well as teaching at the @farmanimalrescue vegan camp ⛺️

I was only 10 when I started experiencing depression… that’s also the same age I decided I never wanted to drink alcohol and I wanted to cover my body with tattoos 😜 it’s been a long and difficult 17 year journey for me since then. Battled too many demons to count, spent too many nights sleeping not wanting to wake up. Some days are still hard, but I’m still here ✌🏽
