It’s been on my to-do list to feature places that show the games AND have exceptional food. @saint_rosecafe is one of those spots! Located on River Road out in Saint Rose. This is one of those holes in the wall with zero frills, but nothing but great flavor.

After trying her chicken, I asked her if she gets a lot of comments on it, and she said this definitely wasn’t the first time she had people blown away 🍗. I need Chef Mo’ at @friedchcknfest 2027 because I genuinely think she would win 🥇.

Check out their soul bowls, their egg rolls, their specials on Sundays and for Monday night vs the Falcons.

JoJo’s 1st Tackle Football Game! He did really good! His @madsquadfb 8u team was dominant against Lonestar Select!

Timothy “Joshy” did his thing as usual! His @pg5_thestandard team was very dominant against the Melissa Cardinals!

Both JoJo’s team and Timothy Joshy’s team completely shut out the opposing teams.

Rec football, Competitive City Football, Semi-Select football or Select football - It really doesn’t matter to me. I’m gonna be the Big Dawg in any Kennel. I’m HIM!!! 😤🔥

Great game against some Select Opponents! Thanks to NTX WARBIRDS & DFW HAWKS for competing against us and giving us some work!

NTX BOLTS vs DFW HAWKS was 🔥 🔥 🔥

We’re not a Select Team. In fact, all our players are from the same zip code in Prosper, TX. But we would love to play any of the Top Select Teams to get some good work in. We like the challenge and we want to be Battle-Tested before the regular season starts!

The last play reminds me of my brother @trey_taylor737 ! I told you I was watching you Big Bro!

Next stop on my Louisiana excursion was the small town my family comes from—St. Rose, Louisiana. ❤️

I am beyond proud of my cousin, Tyree Taylor, for opening Saint Rose Café. If you’re anywhere near the area, make this a must-stop on your culinary journey.

I started with the Boudin Egg Rolls… and baby, they did not disappoint! But if you really want to thank me later, order the Oxtail Bowl. Trust me. 🔥

Walking those streets reminded me where it all began. My dad was from St. Rose, and he met my mom at my Uncle Herbert Taylor’s bar, The Circle Bar Inn, where our family gathered every Sunday. My Aunt Anna Mae Taylor owned the neighborhood grocery store, and my cousin Sammy had the sweet shop and pool hall. Looking back, I realize I come from a long line of entrepreneurs—I just didn’t know that’s what it was called back then.

One memory hit me differently on this trip. My Aunt Anna Mae used to tell me after I moved to Chicago, “You have an aunt who lives there. She has a little museum in Chicago.” I had no idea she was talking about my relative, Margaret Taylor Burroughs, the visionary founder of the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center. What an incredible legacy to be connected to.

Now, seeing Tyree invest back into the same community that gave our family so many beautiful memories makes my heart full. That’s how legacies continue—not just by remembering where you came from, but by pouring back into it.

If you’re planning a Louisiana food tour, put Saint Rose Café on your list.

And don’t leave without trying that Oxtail Bowl!

Last week my clients closed on this beautiful new build in Gunter in the Sunset Ranch Neighborhood. I’m excited for them to enjoy this new chapter in a great community!

I also want to thank Tyree Taylor from Trophy Signature homes for making this a smooth experience for everyone.
