🚢 Pensacola’s Port is getting a $9 MILLION Boost

Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the state investment alongside Mayor D.C. Reeves and Florida Commerce Secretary J. Alex Kelly, which will support the infrastructure needed to grow shipbuilding at the Port of Pensacola.

And the bigger story, if you recall, is the high-paying 2,000 jobs coming from Birdon.

Mayor Reeves called the grant a “massive vote of confidence in Pensacola.”

Want to know what this investment means for the Port, Pensacola’s economy, and the future of shipbuilding in our city?

🏈🏫 BIG news for Pensacola, and it’s bigger than sports!

@uwf is making the leap to Division I ! But what does that really mean for our community?

In a candid conversation, President @uwfpres shares why this moment has been years in the making, and how it’s about far more than athletics.

We’re talking growth, national visibility, new opportunities for students, and a future that could reshape Northwest Florida.

“This is a game changer,” Diaz said. And after hearing the full story, you’ll understand why.

It was a historic day for Pensacola.

Yesterday, we officially opened the Center for Maritime Excellence—the permanent home of @americanmagicteam. This isn’t just a building; it’s a 56,000-square-foot innovation hub establishing our @portofpensacola as a global epicenter for maritime tech and high-wage jobs.

When I started this journey, I promised we would plant our flag as a world-class sailing destination. Today, that vision is real. We also shared that @sailgp has named Pensacola its North American training hub, bringing the world’s best athletes to our Bay (and maybe more to come 😉).
Our city’s bloodline runs through the waterfront, from 1559 to today’s historic surge of investment. I am honored to lead my hometown as we chart this course forward. Our greatest asset isn’t just our history—it’s our innovation and our limitless future.

Huge thanks to the American Magic team, the DeVos Family, our City Council, and City staff for making this possible.

4 weeks ago this was us, in Jamaica, needing attention. One week later the issue propagated further than we had hoped but we were on site in Pensacola. 2.5 weeks after that and we will launch to compete against the top programs in the USA. Thank you to everyone who has helped to bring us back to fighting form and to those who didn’t…… enjoy the show…..Go the Summer Storm
