Udo Wolfgang x Gabriella Brushella

"Hierro y Lana" (Iron and wool)

Once again, I had the honour to be asked by the talented @ubucher2
to create a head piece for this Frida.
I painted it on heavy weight paper with oil paints, which later was photographed by Udo and put together after many, many hours of work in front of the computer. This and all our other joined artworks of his "Tribute to Frida" collection will be showing at the Billy Blue College of Design in Surry Hills, Sydney, from the 15th Nov-2nd Dec.

I hope to see you there!

drive through the city with you,
lets leave it in rubble

run from the bullshit with you,
let’s hide in the covers

I feel there’s something with you,
can I be your lover?

As you can see, the studio & gallery shop are being taken over by this project 🤣.

Not that I’m complaining, I’m thrilled to be putting such a large body of amazing art together… local art, by local artists, every piece has a story and will be available for purchase when the Best Western reopens… or simply there, throughout the hotel, for guests to enjoy.

Not only this, it’s been a lovely reconnection with @laraseresinartist , @suedowlingphotography @nickimagery_ , @george_hall_art , @tommy_friday_art , @duckprint_fine_art_editions , @ubucher2 , @heather_art465 …

And I’d like to extend thanks to @ubucher2 for shooting @laraseresinartist paintings, so we can showcase Lara’s beautiful work in numerous rooms in the hotel. Very much appreciated Udo 🙌

Will you still love me when I’m no longer
young and beautiful?

I’m so enjoying this project. The coming together with artists we’ve had exhibit at our gallery, and connecting with Tom @duckprint_fine_art_editions who has an exceptional number of artists he’s able to show, it’s becoming quite a composition.
I look forward to sharing it with you along the way.

Ten years ago when I came up with the idea of the name "Brushella", it was just a fusion of the word "Brush", and my name GabriElla. The night I created my Instagram page, I impulsively named the account "brushella_brushmaster", and spent the next 10 years regretting and feeling ashamed of the "brushmaster" part...like, who do I think I am? Calling myself a brush master because I can paint birds and butterflies? 10 years have passed and I can feel the title slowly fitting better on me, because I have expanded my brush skills into all the subjects possible, where a brush is involved.
I paint murals, canvases, faces and bodies, and pretty much every other surfaces that can be painted.

Big shout out to @jg_events for passing on the knowledge and artistry of make up all those years ago, they were fun times doing bridal make up.
