Our Path Forward: A Community Circle for Undocumented Asian and Pacific Islander Students and their Allies Tuesday, May 26, 5PM-6PM This event will be delivered on Zoom. A link to the Zoom room will be sent to those who RSVPed. Please RSVP here:https://tinyurl.com/uja4hwjm We invite undocumented Asian and Pacific Islander students and their allies—including friends, staff, and faculty members—to join our community circle. This event aims to create a safe space in which students who are impacted by changing immigration policies can share their experiences, concerns, and questions. The community circle will also provide participants with resources and mentorship to better navigate their lives on campus and beyond, while also forging support and allyship during this challenging time. To begin the conversation, Ga Young Chung, an assistant professor in the Department of Asian American studies, will facilitate a discussion between Daniela D. Telles, Director of the Undocumented Student Resource Center, and Kezia Aurin, a community advocate and a writer for Immigrant Rising, on current immigration policy changes and their impacts on Asian and Pacific Islander communities. Then we will open the floor to engage with participants on their stories, suggestions, concerns, and questions. The event will take place on Zoom, and participants are welcome to leave their cameras off and use a pseudonym if they prefer. Please contact Dr. Ga Young Chung gachung@ucdavis.edu if you have any questions.
