Coaches wear a lot of hats: teacher, mentor, motivator, strategist, sounding board — and sometimes, the person who believes in you when you don’t believe in yourself.

Happy National Coaches Day to the ones who do it all. 🏆

After years of pulling really hard on an expensive piece of carbon fiber, I am so grateful to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Central Florida!! 🖤💛⚔️

The more I do this sport, the deeper I fall in love with it. I realized early on that I want to do this sport for the rest of my life, and being able to continue that as a rower for UCF is a great honor. I truly look forward to rowing for the women I have met and will meet.

Thank you to all of the amazing coaches who have helped me throughout my high school rowing career. A special thank you to Coach Nich, who has been my coach since freshman year. Thank you for always being there for me. You’re always waiting on the dock for us with a smile, whether we won or lost. After every hard race, every frustrating practice, and every exhausting erg, you are always there to lift me back up and tell my teammates and me, “I’m proud of you girls.” Your guidance let my love for the sport grow, and now I wish to do the same for others as a passionate teammate.

Thank you to my family for dealing with the whooshing of the erg fan at 6 a.m. every morning. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for being there for me and supporting me through this sport. You are the strongest people I know. Thank you for being such an incredible example. Also, thank you for somehow keeping up with how much food I eat.

I am so grateful for all the coaches at UCF who are giving me this opportunity. Thank you, Coach Tess, Coach Mara, Coach Marten, and Coach Roman, for showing me what it means to be a Knight!

The fire that burns in my heart for rowing makes my excitement for the next chapter of my life so much more meaningful. I truly cannot wait to be a part of such an incredible team, and I cannot wait to give it everything I have.

⚔️GO KNIGHTS, CHARGE ON⚔️

UCF grads, it’s time to start thinking about your graduation photos! The semester is over before you know it, make sure you reserve a session💛

UCF is one of my favorite campuses to photograph. As an alum myself, I know all of the best spots (and believe me, there are SO many!)

Comment UCF for my favorite locations and info about senior sessions!🌴

Leading the Charge. ⚔️
In Episode 3 of Under the Palms, we highlight two former Knights who are now helping shape the next generation of UCF student-athletes — Katy Ling, former UCF Women’s Soccer player, and Lauren Roman, former UCF rower.

Joined by their head coaches, @maraallencoach and @trsahaydak, Katy and Lauren share what it means to return to UCF as leaders, the unique impact of having alumni on staff, and the continued growth and strength of women’s sports at UCF.

From representing on the field and water to leading the next generation, their journeys are a reminder that being a Knight doesn’t end when your playing days do.

Allstate Championship Series - Outdoor Track & Field & Rowing 🏆

For a second-consecutive season, @texastechtf men's and women's teams swept the Big 12 outdoor titles, completing the season sweep of both the indoor and outdoor seasons. The men clinched the championship before the final event of the night, as the Red Raiders held a 24-point lead. Meanwhile, the Texas Tech women delivered a dramatic finish in the 4x400 relay, setting a school record to edge BYU for the crown.

Out on the water, @ucf.rowing went five-for-five at Nathan Benderson Park, with all boats claiming first-place in all races. The Knights showcased total dominance with multiple boats winning by double-digit seconds and the Varsity Eight securing the sweep with a commanding 13-second victory.

For every championship victory, schools continue stacking points in the @Allstate Big 12 Championship Series - the conference-wide competition recognizing excellence in competition, academics, career development, and community impact. As the standings tighten, every title brings programs one step closer to claiming the Allstate Big 12 Championship Trophy and a scholarship donation from Allstate.
