Last night, our community came together for our annual Silent No More Candlelight Vigil. Recent heartbreaking homicides in our communities remind us how much is at stake. And with critical funding for domestic violence services in jeopardy, we cannot afford to move backward. We must move forward together and continue to protect the services survivors depend on.

Thank you to everyone who stood with us in remembrance, solidarity, and hope. A special thank you to our Vigil sponsor, Ryan T. Lee Memorial Foundation, Dr. Bill Petit of The Petit Family Foundation, New Britain Mayor Bobby Sanchez, Cellist Matilda Petrela of the New Britain Symphony Orchestra, the Walker Family, and the brave survivors who offered their courageous stories of healing and hope.

Full circle moment. Professor Derrick Bell provided us all with a theoretical framework for understanding civil rights and the ongoing struggle for racial justice. 20 years ago, I was his student and then TA in Constitutional Law. Last week, I had the privilege of revisiting his remarks on Racial Realism, delivered in 1991 @uconnlaw, along with Devon Carbado (@nyulaw) Ariela Gross (@uclalawschool), and Robert Chang (ucilaw) moderated by Goldburn Maynard. Look out for our forthcoming commentary in the @connlrev. Thank you Dean @ebonisnelson &. Assoc Dean Anne Dailey for organizing us 🙏🏾

We are always communicating something: before we speak, while we listen, in the way we enter a room, and in the way we choose to tell a story. The tools of performance simply give us a way to become more intentional about it.

I loved spending time with the summer interns at Koskoff Law exploring what happens when we bring those tools into the workplace, using my Page To Stage workshop.
