On behalf of @sbbuddhist we thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts, for making our 2026 Obon a success!

From the beloved Fujii sisters who led our dancing to our friends from @togendaiko who shook the earth with their drumming, from all the the the performers and exhibitors who showcased their artistry to new friends and old who visited us from our sister temples across California, @ucsb.nsu, and the neighborhood, you all made the day a precious gift. Of course, this day was all possible due to our core team of leaders and volunteers whose vision and dedication helped bring back a treasured tradition for our community. Tip of the hat to our friends Beatrice, @cas_d_c and UCSB NSU who provides the snapshots!

The dharma teaches us that through awakening to the interdependence of all life we are able to lead lives of awe and gratitude. Thanks to everyone who helped us do just that!

Though Obon season is coming to a close, we’ll still be here! We offer weekly qigong classes to rebalance the body and mind and monthly dharma services to experience the timeless wisdom of the dharma.
