From Classroom to Community! 🏠✨

Rebuilding Together staff member Celine and AmeriCorps member Erin joined the University of Florida’s IND 3468: Interior Environmental Technologies class as guest lecturers. Students learned about Rebuilding Together’s work repairing and renovating homes to improve safety, stability, sanitation, and functionality for families in our community.

Then, they put that knowledge into action. Students teamed up with Rebuilding Together to redesign a kitchen and showed up to the project site to remove water-damaged cabinets and moldy drywall, followed by installing new drywall and lower cabinets.

What started as a classroom lesson became hands-on experience—and a meaningful contribution to a family’s home.

We’re proud to see students use their skills to help create a safer, healthier, more functional space where this family can gather, make memories, and enjoy time together. 💚

Special thanks to Lowe's for sponsoring this project and to UF DCP for providing this opportunity! Go Gators!! 🧡💙

Stone Tile Group recently welcomed nearly 40 students from the University of Florida’s College of Design, Construction and Planning for a behind-the-scenes look at our Orlando showroom and the work that goes into bringing stone and tile projects to life.

Students toured the showroom, learned more about STG’s approach to sourcing, consulting, fabrication and installation, and heard directly from professionals working in the design industry.

STG’s Jim Antonucci, a University of Florida DCP graduate who also holds a PhD, shared insight into the company, the industry and the value of gaining real-world experience beyond the classroom.

We were also grateful to welcome Marc Michaels and Brooks Design Studio, who shared their own professional perspectives and helped connect what students are learning at UF with the collaboration and decision-making that happens every day in the field.

Thank you to the UF DCP students, faculty and our industry partners for spending the day with us.

Standing at the intersection of legacy and innovation. Truly honored to return to the University of Florida College of Design, Construction & Planning for the Leadership Summit and to recently join the Department of Interior Design’s Advocacy Board during such a pivotal moment. Congratulations to the college on 100 years of excellence-marked by the ceremonial ribbon cutting for the Bruno E. and Martiza F. Ramos Collaboratory, a visionary space that will shape the next century of design leadership. Lastly, cheers to Chair Roberto Rengel as he transitions into a new chapter of his remarkable journey.
