Stone Tile Group recently welcomed nearly 40 students from the University of Florida’s College of Design, Construction and Planning for a behind-the-scenes look at our Orlando showroom and the work that goes into bringing stone and tile projects to life.

Students toured the showroom, learned more about STG’s approach to sourcing, consulting, fabrication and installation, and heard directly from professionals working in the design industry.

STG’s Jim Antonucci, a University of Florida DCP graduate who also holds a PhD, shared insight into the company, the industry and the value of gaining real-world experience beyond the classroom.

We were also grateful to welcome Marc Michaels and Brooks Design Studio, who shared their own professional perspectives and helped connect what students are learning at UF with the collaboration and decision-making that happens every day in the field.

Thank you to the UF DCP students, faculty and our industry partners for spending the day with us.

Our Materials class had an incredible visit to @stonetilegroup in Orlando yesterday. Students explored a curated range of architectural stone, tile, porcelain, and other surface materials while connecting material choices to real-world design applications.

A huge thank-you to James A Antonucci Jr. PhD, MBA and the entire Stone Tile Group team for sharing their expertise, welcoming our students, and making the showroom experience so engaging.

Opportunities like this bring materials education to life and help prepare emerging #designers to specify thoughtfully, creatively, and confidently.

Join us in congratulating Amanda Myers (BDES ‘10) for being this year’s recipient of the UF Department of Interior Design Distinguished Alumni Award.

Currently the assistant director of facilities for @uf_clas, she has worked in different roles on the UF campus for the past eight years and was recognized for her continued commitment to interior design students and the department. Despite a busy schedule, she has consistently made time to support students through campus site visits, competition juries, panel sessions and portfolio reviews.

Congrats Amanda! 😀 by @ufinteriordesign

A huge thanks to Amanda Guerrier and @steelcase for your commitment to design research and student education! Your excellent presentation to our undergraduate Environment & Behavior students clearly demonstrated the power of Interior Design and the role of research in creating workplaces that enhance the well-being of employees.

“I really appreciated how Amanda engaged the students in discussions on how workplace design affects not only our ability to be creative and productive, but also our capacity to thrive.” - Sheila Jones Bosch, PhD taken in University of Florida by @ufinteriordesign
