A little Atlanta Art Fair throwback 🖼️✨

Last year was full of amazing art, familiar faces, new connections, and some really insightful conversations! 🎨💬

I love a good panel discussion, and the Fashion in Atlanta panel was definitely a favorite. I really enjoyed hearing the different perspectives and exploring the ways art, fashion, culture, and creativity all intersect — especially here in Atlanta.

I’m so excited to be back this year, see what everyone’s been working on, discover new artists, catch a few panels, and snap a few shots along the way. 💕📸

See y’all at the fair! 😊

Director’s Corner: My favorite frame from episode 1 is this moment where Arimeta appears to have a little flower crown because of the vase behind them. My DP @ellagibney_ carefully created this shot with the little sonny angel in the corner, and then @uhharim improvised leaning over to flip through the artwork that Alex had been doodling on the couch. It’s an interesting choice from Arimeta that adds depth to their friendship, and reveals Arimeta’s curiosity about Alex as well as the inquisitive nature of a true artist. I like how the page is angled so that the audience can see a burst of green- a color that, early on, Ella and I discussed as representing Alex’s artistic essence and the pure side of her. Whenever Alex is near or interacting with the color green, that means she’s engaging with something beautiful and real. Arimeta, with the flowers coming out of them, embodies nature and creativity in this moment. I also like how when Alex bursts back into the room and Arimeta looks up, the flower crown of the vase remains in place, contrasting Arimeta’s steadiness and sureness amidst Alex’s chaos and flux. It’s cool how when you make art with other people, things blossom so to speak. This was not something I planned for, and now thanks to Ella and Arimeta, it’s my favorite frame.
