Being discussed in the House of Commons this week. Do you think this should be legalised or not?

Committees consider policy issues, scrutinise government work, expenditure, and examine proposals for primary and secondary legislation.

✍️ Select Committees work in both Houses. They check and report on areas ranging from the work of government departments to economic affairs 🔍 General Committees are unique to the Commons and mainly look at proposed legislation in detail.

🤝 Joint Committees are committees consisting of MPs and Lords 📚 Grand Committees in the Commons look at questions on Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

#Then ➡️ Committee Corridor in @ukhouseofcommons and its rooms at work in 1897.

#Now ➡️ Committee Corridor today, where committees still continue to sit, almost 130 years on. Members also use Portcullis House to work in Committees.
