That’s a wrap! Two amazing weeks in Cadzand, NL, tucked away in the middle of nowhere, a world away from city life in London. Just nature, silence, and a completely different rhythm of life.

Huge thank you to @ul2ru and @ccd_francesca_manfredini for creating such a special residency. Shout out to the other artists that shared this time with me: @orfeot @bethmcalester @electrasimon @mehdi_gorbz and to everyone who supported us and made this time so special. I met so many beautiful people along the way.

It’s easy to forget how small our worlds can become. This was a reminder that there are always other ways to live, to create, and to grow.

A summer stop worth the detour.

Just a few kilometres from Knokke, @cadzandair is launching its first artist residency, bringing together six international artists around memory, cultural heritage and transmission.

Founded by francescamanfredini and @ul2ru , this thoughtful new initiative will culminate in a public Parcours d’Artistes from August 14–16, across Cadzand, Retranchement and Knokke.

Because the Belgian coast is full of places—and people—worth discovering.

our artists residency is coming to an end which means our final exhibition is coming up🖤

the opening is Friday 14th (6-10pm) - open to all
and then we open our doors Saturday & Sunday 15-16th (12-6pm)

the parcours d’artistes will take place in 3 different pavilions:
• in the main residency barn, 3 platteweg cadzand
• in the middle of the woods, 4 herenweg retranchement
• in the church d’ouwe kerke, 12 dorpsstraat retranchement

our exclusive collaboration with @meurisse made @orfeot design 100 limited edition tablets, and we’ve added 4 secret sketches of our artists inside!!

Al meer dan tien jaar delen Francesca Manfredini en Ula Deru dezelfde visie op kunst. Nu kanaliseren ze hun gedeelde frustraties én hun expertise in een nieuwe kunstenaarsresidentie vlak over de grens.

'We botsten telkens op dezelfde vragen: hoe trek je hedendaagse kunst uit de ivoren toren, en hoe geef je makers echte ondersteuning?'

Depuis plus de dix ans, Francesca Manfredini et Ula Deru partagent la même vision de l'art. Aujourd'hui, elles mettent en commun leurs frustrations et leur expertise pour donner naissance à une toute nouvelle résidence artistique à vocation internationale.

«Dans le monde de l'art, il est parfois difficile de trouver des projets réellement alignés avec ses valeurs. Beaucoup de passionnés se retrouvent dans des structures très commerciales.»
