As an English-Editing, Writing, and Media major at Florida State University, Bianca Aguirre has found ways to bridge her interests. “I’m someone who always has a million things I want to do,” Bianca says. “I think that’s why I’m drawn to both writing and law: I can take them in so many different directions.” Originally from North Miami, Bianca grew up close to the water and considers the beach one of her favorite places to be. When she is home, she enjoys spending time boating, reading at the beach, and baking anything sweet. She also is always looking for an excuse to travel. She spent the 2026 Summer B session studying abroad in Valencia, Spain, and she returned to Tallahassee with plenty of new stories to share. Bianca's profile photo shows her at the Turia Fountain in Valencia's Plaza de la Virgen. Bianca is preparing to attend law school after graduating from FSU. Her interests in law are just as varied as the rest of her life, but she is drawn to areas related to media, entertainment, publishing, and communications. She hopes to build a career that allows her to combine the analytical side of law with the writing and creativity she is developing through her English studies. This semester, Bianca is excited to interview members of the FSU community as an intern for the English department and tell stories about the department’s people, events, and accomplishments. Outside of the Williams Building, Bianca is involved in several campus pre-law organizations. She serves on the editorial board of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Review and has also worked as an editor for FSU’s Undergraduate Law Review. Her professional experiences include legislative work, legal research, and communications, all of which have helped her explore the ways writing and law can overlap. “Every experience I’ve had has shown me a different way to connect writing and law,” Bianca says. “I like that I don’t have to choose between those interests. I can build a career that uses both.” For now, Bianca is busy making the most of her time here at FSU, both in and out of the classroom. As she looks toward graduation, she is excited to see what this next chapter has in store for her. Meet the 2026 fall English department interns: Bianca Aguirre
