It’s always amazes how Claudio Salocchi’s design can blend into the most contemporary setups, the most unexpected spaces, and the most surprising meeting situations.
Here is a beautiful composition of the Free System (@acerbis_design ) that interacts perfectly, confirming its potential to connect the ancient, modern, and contemporary, as well as to weave relationships between people, accommodating different lifestyles and inspiring new ones.
Freedom is also presented here as a harmonious balance between presence and absence.
Congratulations to @ultrapresent_studio for the sophisticated and lively project where the apparent contradiction between nomadic and stationary coexists, transcending space and time.

The unmoved mover is the cause of movement for the celestial sphere and the fixed stars, upon which all movements of the cosmos and the sublunary world depend—an eternity outside of time. Ultrapresent Studio draws on this reflection as the basis for curating the project Atto Puro (Pure Act), developed inside the Conservatorio di Como. Atto Puro involves the electronic music department and the Cosmos audio system, designed and produced in 2025 by Ultrapresent in collaboration with sound engineer Alessandro Buggio for a musical performance created to bring back a late-1970s work by Giusto Pio, produced by Franco Battiato, in a live format. Dresswall surfaces and the Terra Sole rug by Malcusa, designed by Virginia Arlotto, complete this ethereal space.

FINE COMUNE / LOBBY NOMADE

Fine Comune is a temporary exhibition by Nomade and Ultrapresent Studio held inside the former church of Santa Caterina. The project reflects on the concept of borders as points where boundaries meet, interact, and reveal themselves: the border is the mark that unites us, not the one that separates us. The installation draws inspiration from those suspended spaces that some nomadic cultures create to make any place convivial and welcoming. The exhibition space features artworks by Luca Monterastelli, a selection of collectible design objects from Movimento Gallery, handcrafted rugs by cc-tapis, and the Free System upholstered sofa system by Acerbis.

Lake Como Design Festival: highlights from the eighth edition, titled Border, an exploration of thresholds between territories, disciplines and ideas.

1) Soft Monuments — @pastinaisgood explores the space between furniture and architecture through sculptural upholstered volumes inspired by the proportions of classical monuments. Credit: Alessandro Ruffini
2) Fine Comune — @ultrapresent_studio transforms the former Santa Caterina Church into a welcoming gathering space, bringing together collectible design, handcrafted rugs and an upholstered sofa system.
3) Future in the Past. Collezione 64 — Cappellini and Fondazione AG Fronzoni revisit AG Fronzoni’s archive at Villa Grumello, connecting his radical design language with contemporary practice.
4) The Long Take — The Happy Few’s 10-meter carpet at Villa Saporiti draws inspiration from the irregular grids of sidewalk paving, transforming an everyday pattern into a playful design.
5) LULÙ MIRROR — @chendudesign combines travertine and PVC with waste recovery and high craftsmanship in an experimental piece presented at Villa Saporiti.

I am pleased to be a part of Fine Comune with @movimentogallery as part of @lakecomodesignfestival an exhibition conceived by @we_are_nomade and curated by @ultrapresent_studio

The project reflects on the concept of borders as spaces of encounter, places where boundaries meet, perspectives overlap, and people come into dialogue.
