Meet the winning team from the 2026 Spotlight Competition! The NCMS – National Center for Manufacturing Sciences project gave Tauber students Oscar Roden and Parker Peterson (EGLs) the opportunity to work directly with an organization at the forefront of manufacturing innovation, applying their skills to a challenge that matters in real time. This project is a great example of what it means to be a Tauber team. Students, sponsors, faculty, and staff contributed to a goal which will have a lasting impact well past this summer. Congratulations again to the NCMS team!

How do you get the right parts to the right place at the right time? At Eaton’s aerospace facility in Jackson, MI, Tauber EGLs Will Berschback and Cole Martin took a fresh-eyes approach to a familiar operations challenge. They evaluated Eaton’s Plan for Every Part (PFEP) framework, benchmarked industry best practices, and reworked material classifications and replenishment strategies, then put their updated approach to the test on a selected product line. One more project in the spotlight before Spotlight! And now, the competition is almost here!

No need to be in a pickle when you have the right data. This summer, Tauber students Iman Dashti, George Nunu, and Benjamin Schmeltz (all EGL) are helping Conagra Brands bring real-time data to the Vlasic plant. The team is implementing a dashboard to replace lagging, paper-based reporting with instant visibility, helping the plant make faster decisions and take action when it matters most. With data working in real time to support the people running it, that's a pretty big dill!

For 30 years, Boeing and the Tauber Institute have partnered to solve complex operational challenges through hands-on Tauber Projects. This summer, we're proud to continue and celebrate that tradition with the KC-46 Tanker Production System Optimization project. As part of this longstanding tradition, Alex Arantes (MBA), Caroline Cook (MBA), and Madison LaPine (EGL) are spending the summer in the Seattle area, working alongside Boeing and gaining firsthand experience. Here's to many more years of collaboration, and a celebration in September at this year's Spotlight!

A healthy dose of operations excellence. This summer, our Tauber students are partnering with Pfizer to help strengthen the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Kyleigh Calvert and Joseph Dib (both EGL) are developing a data-driven capacity model and digital twin to optimize Pfizer's Global Materials Management warehouse. By identifying operational constraints and optimizing resource allocation, their work aims to increase workload capacity by 10% using existing resources. We're excited to see the results of this project at this year's Spotlight (less than 2 months away!)
