“Be 𝕞𝕖𝕤𝕤𝕪 & 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕡𝕝𝕚𝕔𝕒𝕥𝕖𝕕 & 𝕒𝕗𝕣𝕒𝕚𝕕 and ⓈⒽⓄⓌ ⓊⓅ anyway” - @glennondoyle

Excuse me while I just take a rare moment to feel proud of myself for sticking with this on the hard days. At the beginning of this clinical trial / research study I had so many doubts but I really just felt a pull to be a part of it no matter what. Some days and workouts have been harder than others, and I’ve often felt defeated by what I *couldn’t* do, but not today. Today I’m just proud of me for showing up when the easiest thing would have been to give up. I have every excuse in the world to NOT be here, yet here I am, still standing.

Let’s start a positivity chain. Comment below and tag someone YOU are proud of, just for continuing to freaking Show. Up. Anyway. I’ve started by tagging some bad asses - now tag yours!

Special thanks to my buddy @kloughnane13 for reminding me this morning that showing up is good enough - that it’s brave and it’s something worth celebrating. Freaking love your guts.

"My health deteriorated rapidly at 13 years old & I discovered yoga after a stint on life support as a way to gain my strength back, mental & physical"

Meet Hailey @asana_n_chill sharing her #yogasavedmylife story with us 💚

"I have dysautonomia & multiple other disabling health conditions & doctors don’t really know what my future holds. However, Yoga has changed my perspective & taught me self love, allowing me to adapt quicker to my constantly changing body, and in recent times becoming a wheelchair user again & with having a central line. I can honestly say that Yoga & the study of Buddhist philosophy has made my life liveable. For me yoga means a reunion, with not just the present moment, turning inward, as well as uniting us with the world & others around us, feeling connection 🌍
.

My yoga journey began out of tragedy, & I’ve been fighting for my life ever since. But, from all the mud, a beautiful lotus can grow ...& I became a yoga teacher to share accessible yoga with others like me, who assume yoga is not for them. Today I am a 500 hour yoga teacher with an @accessibleyoga teacher certificate & I am currently pursuing my C-IAYTT yoga therapy certification.

The study of Yoga & Buddhism have really helped me accept getting sick, injured, & aging is a natural part of life & I strive to bring representation to yoga for all bodies.

Through it all, the good and the bad, Yoga has been my life preserver, holding me afloat despite daily medical emergencies, treatments & uncertainty 🙏

I turned 26 years old yesterday which means I have spent half my life disabled. Occasionally I get angry & bitter at how much time & experiences I’ve missed out on, & everything illness has taken from me. It’s important to allow ourselves to grieve. Yet, I refuse to get stuck there.
Rise up girl, you’re still here!
Each day truly is a gift. Count your blessings 💚

This post is dedicated to my younger disabled self, who falsely believed that I’d never fall in love, make a difference, accomplish anything noteworthy or lead a happy life.

Boy was I wrong!

I am disabled & an Advanced Yoga Teacher & here to show that if you can breathe, you can do yoga!
