2026 Spring semester wrapped ✔️ Thanks to all the campus and local collaborations that engage students with sustainability!

Here’s a highlight from GreenFest, where we built garden beds behind Brown Hall for the edible Sol Garden with the Student Environmental Center and UNCA STEAM Studio, using fallen trees from Helene @secgardens @STEAMStudio 💚

April 30 is my birthday, a pause and a moment to reflect. Thirty years ago my father carved this figure. He was my age when he made this and presented it to me on this day.
Now 30 years later, I present to him and the public this colossal collaboration that has been underway for the past 2 years. I collaborated with @unca_steam_studio
to 3D scan the carving and worked with celebrated and legendary roadside attraction maker Mark Cline to produce a 22 foot giant version of the carving. It will be in unveiled and inaugurated to the public at 22 London in Asheville, North Carolina on Father’s Day weekend. I can’t wait !

Thank you Peter Oakley for helping to offload and snapping this wonderful photo from above. And thank you Eric Carroll for the portrait!

There are so many opportunities and resources close to our campus. One of those is the @unca_steam_studio in Asheville. Graduates and MFA coordinator, Jennifer Printz, toured the space to help inform their ideas for public art.
Thank you for @unca_steam_studio for giving us a tour and welcoming us in your space!
