Cruzar os céus em busca de novos horizontes

Não faz tanto tempo assim, viajar para outros países era algo raro na minha vida. Hoje, de certa forma, faz parte da minha rotina, da minha profissão, das minhas ambições e dos meus sonhos

Mas, com a viagem que começa hoje, sinto que também estou me reconectando com algo importante: a capacidade de valorizar as pequenas coisas que, de tanto se repetirem, correm o risco de se tornar comuns

Eu nunca quero normalizar o privilégio de acordar na janela de um avião e poder presenciar essas cores, essas formas e essa imensidão que a natureza nos oferece

É nesses momentos que lembro que, apesar de toda a distância que percorremos, de todas as fronteiras que atravessamos e de tudo aquilo que buscamos conquistar, somos unidade, somos natureza.

Que eu nunca perca a capacidade de me encantar com aquilo que já faz parte da minha vida

Something I haven't shared before. Last year in October I joined a team of world class highliners from around the world to help rig the new world record for the world's longest highline at 4km (2.5mi) long across the desert of Utah near Moab.

The project took 5 days culminating in @da_logster successfully crossing the line into the night under the full moon. Originally I was only supposed to come and document the project but quickly I became a member of the rigging team and my hands were on webbing just as much as on my camera.

I had the opportunity to write and help curate this story for @utahlifemag in the Aug/Sept print issue. Told through my own experience of the project and filled with unique characters and adventure.

Thanks to @da_logster for leading this project and for everyone on the team that made this project a reality, (see tags on each page). It was also my privilege to meet and spend time with the legendary Andy Lewis, who sadly passed away earlier this year, but who had helped create everything this sport is today.

Beyond grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the team and proud to finally put this story to page for readers to enjoy.

A lot of people have been asking, how did Freddie walk across this? How did it even get rigged? Or was it always there?

The answer is, @unchartedlines rigged it for Freddie! A close group of friends with a shared passion and a history of pulling off outlandish feats around the world over the past half a decade together, were fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to bring this highline to life for @freddie.falcon & the @atlantafalcons
•
The reality is, yes, we take our work and our profession very seriously, but we also have to remember to have fun, crack jokes, and just enjoy being alive. Being good at what you do doesn’t mean you can’t have fun, be present, and appreciate the small things in life along the way.

Proffitt discovered slacklining in Hawaii and fell in love instantly. The sport opened doors to incredible places and connections, eventually leading him into the world of highlining.

AKA, he’s also known as B-Dawg, and 𝗵𝗲’𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹 but he’ll also get your heart pumping with what he does for fun in the backcountry and alpine settings.

AKA, also known as Luscious, if you think his hair is long, wait until you see the highlines he dreams up. He’s also the owner and operator of 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 in North America, which does some truly incredible projects and gatherings for the highlining community and created the first ever Highline Film Tour!
