who fancies a misery party?

we’ll be taking over @thestudiotwelve_ on saturday september 13th for a sexy return of misery parties (!!!) because we all need a space to celebrate the wonder of you sweeties while enjoying music in the sunshine with some queer ecology play.

we’ll dance together, grieve together, create together and rest in the mystery of awe together: dissolving the membranes between us and the more than human world.

we’re honoured to be joined by some greats:

And that’s a wrap 💎

If anyone needs me I’ll be sitting and marinading in all the heartsoaring feelings of Kin Things’ launch event for a few days. Be back soon.

Thanks to each and everyone of you for being a part of JOYBODY - for your open mindedness to celebrate ancient care for modern ease, nature connection and collective joy.

Thanks to all the old friends and new for brainnoodling the concept, helping craft it, sharing all your gifts, and all the on the ground work in the days before and morning of. You’re all legends, I’m so grateful for you and already excited for what’s coming next.

Here’s a quote from Robin Wall Kimmerer referencing Joanna Macy - two great inspirations that shaped a lot of the eco-mindfulness, kinship and deep ecology thinking behind Kin Things. One that I think beautifully sums up the emotional and physical movements of yesterday.

‘Joanna Macy writes that until we can grieve for our planet we cannot love it. But it is not enough to weep for our lost landscapes (internal or external); we have to put our hands in the earth to make ourselves whole again. Even a wounded world is feeding us. Even a wounded world holds us, giving us moments of wonder and joy. I choose joy over despair. Not because I have my head in the sand, but because joy is what the earth gives me daily and I must return the gift.’

How amazing was it to explore this sense of release, nature connection and kinship in our own unique ways - all nestled away in a factory warehouse attic in a hidden corner of East London?
