Whenever you see a butterfly, think of those loved ones who have passed from this world, protecting you while in the next. Butterfly Wings installation was created by the inspiration of Dolly Parton for @craftcationconference this past year. It was completely hand cut, assembled, and bedazzled by yours truly. It is the largest fabric collage I had ever done... actually it was the first one because I like trying new things. All the fabric was donated by @thestudiobakersfield. It was an honor to create... and brought so many smiles. It's crazy to think such a force is no longer here, but she is in spirit.

We are never alone,

10/10 recommend living with your soulmate ✅

but after nearly 3 years, we’re divorcing!! sylvana took the kids (the cats) and the stunning geometric rug! jordan took the furniture and cooking appliances. we split the vibes in the pre-nup. we ask for your privacy as we grieve the end of an era 😭

🏠gratitude for this home we built together. gratitude for the laughs, tears, hugs, meals, art, love, and infinite joy we created here. gratitude to this place that helped us alchemize our best and most fulfilling lives. gratitude to the community that we got to host in this space and love on. grateful for the growth we had together and separately.

above all, grateful to our two souls - guided by angels - who built, dreamed, and thrived together. may our friendship always thrive and grow, no matter where we nurture the seeds we planted. may we bloom even greater this next chapter 🌹

with love, joho & sylvana

You don’t have to be ‘creative’ for this…

Just start.

No plan, just play.

I literally made the butterfly mural two days before its debut... yes it was a lot of work… But mostly I kept overthinking it I could've started so much sooner if I just let go and just started.

I am by no means a fabric person… but I love giving myself a challenge especially when it allows me to still create my color palette!

The icing on the cake was seeing everyone taking photos with the mural and becoming a beautiful butterfly themselves!

Shout out to @craftcationconference & @earthday661 for showcasing it!

And just like that… it became something new... with you!✨

Looking to have the mural at your next event? DM for info!

I could’ve painted these myself.

But that’s not the point.

These overalls hold more than paint—
they hold confidence, creativity, and the freedom to create without fear of “messing it up.”

This is what we do in class every week.
Not perfect art.
Not Pinterest art.

Real play. Real expression. Real ownership.

And honestly? I think they did a better job than I ever could. 🎨

I wore this at the @craftcationconference and got so much LOVE!! I was like a proud momma wearing my student’s artwork! 💕

Would you wear something your kids designed?

**Idea inspired by @victorialcalk (& @creativespiritpreschool )— loved this concept and had to try it! 💕

I finally got to win at a claw machine 🎉🥳I’ve been looking for ways to connect with my inner child, and @thegrablabsd was the perfect place to do it!

📍Located in Pacific Beach, The Grab Lab is the spot to kick it with your friends, win your date a plushie, play some switch, or read manga. They’re next to some great shops (and coffee), and are open Weds-Sunday!

🍰Continuing the jaunt around East Village, @undertherosemary and I walked to @hinar.cafe to experience their sweet treats and coffee! Their Biscoff Basque Cheesecake was IT for me (girl, idk what basque even means but i’m here for it), and the space was ✨gorgeous✨

I’m enjoying pushing my creativity in this way, and excited to keep sharing some adventures around the city. I hope y’all are liking it too! And if you go to any of these spots, tell me what you think about it.

🍴side note…SHOULD I do some ASMR /food stuff? Are we into that??
