POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What we have seen last week across the UK is a reminder of how much work remains – and how urgent it is.

In moments like this, the work of organisations challenging racism becomes more necessary than ever. And this work is happening everywhere, not just in the UK.

Here are some of the organisations doing it. Swipe through – and if you can, support their work. All the links are at the books’s website at the link in bio.

Today is #WorldEnvironmentDay – and a good moment to spotlight some of the organisations working for climate justice.

On the Radical Justice website, I’ve been gathering organisations working at the heart of the issues in the book – and climate justice is one of them.

Swipe through to meet the organisations doing this work. If you are in a position to support any of them, even a small contribution goes a long way. All the links are on the Take Action page at the link in bio.

🪐 EA Journal, Issue 8 | ACT: A Call for Climate and Justice 🪐

Today, as a ceasefire brings a moment of pause in Palestine, with joy and hope for resistance, we are sharing an essential article from Issue 8 of the EA Journal, under the ACT stream:

“If You Care About the Climate, You Have to Care About Palestine” by Magid Magid.

This piece highlights the intersection of environmental destruction, systemic oppression, and colonialism in Palestine. It delves into how environmental degradation is used as a weapon of control and why the struggle for climate justice must include the fight for Palestinian liberation.

As we reflect on the significance of this moment, this article reminds us that climate justice and human rights are inseparable. Supporting global justice requires dismantling structures of oppression everywhere.

I am pretty sure that revolutionary events will instantly go down in history. The launch of the report “What’s race got to do with it?” is one of these events. @unionofjustice did groundbreaking research on climate injustice in Europe. For this research a discussion of the intersection of climate policy, social policy, and race was necessary.

Union of justice offered a unique insight in this research. @camelanin presented the key findings of this report. @marcela_torres_heredia explained colonialism from a scientific point of view. @femblocodescolonial enriched us with a creative act. @amina_0_0_ spoke about her experience as a black climate activist and I discussed the issues of environmentalism and racism.

I loved and appreciated every second!

When we had the honor of hosting @ruha9 at our bookstore for a community evening, she said, „Community is a verb.“ The truth of this statement resonates deeply with us.

Last week, in collaboration with @palaestinaforum we celebrated our Inclusive and Diverse Literature Days, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude. For five days, we experienced an incredible mix of energy, meaningful conversations, inspiring connections, and the voices of people working to make the literary world more diverse and inclusive.

It was a wonderful time, and it wouldn’t have been possible without all of you. Each and every one of you contributed to making our first literature festival an unforgettable success.

In the coming days, we’ll share a detailed recap of each event. But for now, we just want to say thank you—for your support, your openness, and your dedication to creating a more inclusive literary world.

Why should racial justice be at the core of Europe’s climate action?

I had the honour of contributing to the Union of Justice's ground-breaking report, which unpacks the intersection of climate and racial justice across Europe. Based on roundtables, interviews, and surveys in 10 countries, the report reveals how racialised communities face disproportionate environmental harms, political exclusion, and inadequate housing conditions. It’s a must-read for anyone committed to equitable climate solutions. 🌿👥

Find out how centring social justice is key to tackling the climate crisis. Read my blog summarising the report and fi d the full version here:
