At a recent retreat with @unitedartspace I discovered the power of being free to be myself... and sage sticks... so naturally I wondered what they'd be like to draw with.... I love it!! Smells good too!

I'm not sure where this is going but it feels really free... I see tunnels to other worlds emerging ... what do you see?

Yesterday I had the joy of sharing an embodied yoga/somatic movement session with a courageous bunch of women as part of an incred creativity retreat by Michelle @unitedartspace

I had complete freedom to follow my instinct in terms of theme, and what was most alive was stone + bone.

We journeyed from the ancient Shropshire lands surrounding us to the geology and bedrock of body, the fossils of us and all of the wisdom the bones hold.

We gradually morphed from fish to land mammals and primates into Homo sapiens, finding the long journey to standing where we embraced the ongoing dance with gravity, and all of the possibilities and conundrums it brings…

The landscape of body is a wellspring of resource and inspiration when we start to tune in, and it was such a joy to craft and facilitate this deep journey with such an open minded + hearted group of women.

Long live the wisdom that lives in our bones… ✨🦴🤍

I want to share how grateful I am to have the chance to once again be artist in residence at @workingartiststudios ✨♥️✨

Pol and Marie being the best hosts you can imagine, who make you feel welcome and cosy.
I love how we exchange our views on art processes, spiritual matters and political issues too as we see everything interconnected and intertwined and we share a deep love for the planet and for this Irish land we step upon together with its history and tales. ☘️

This is so enriching and nourishing for my soul and art practice alike. 🌷

I feel so very blessed to have this ‘Room of my own’ which Virginia Woolf acknowledged as necessary for women to find their voice and be able to create ♥️

Do you agree with V.W.?
Do you have or are you looking for your room of your own?

I need different mediums and various inputs to contact my deep self and unveil the story I want to tell.
My soul thrives when I carve out time and space to make art, for it enhances all my senses and I feel thrown in a world of wonder, depth and connection with the whole.
Can you relate?
What does connect you with the bigger picture?
Let me know in the comments!

Thank you @workingartiststudios for having me as artist in residence and giving me the space to experiment and express my multidisciplinary practice ♥️

Business side of AAART? Finally tight — applying for shows, residencies, grant’s next. So now I’m putting money where the thread is. Signed up for a course with @surface_design (shoutout @hollywongart 👋). Seven years with @unitedartspace and Michelle Lloyd’s still the reason my admin doesn’t look like a crime scene — her book Your Art Matters is not a maybe. Art first. Business tighter. Making, next level.

I want to spare some time to honour my hands 🌟
My super sensitive fingertips feeling every paper-fabric-canvas-surface-texture-medium-temperature-comfort-prickle-unease 🌿
My whole hands grabbing, scketching, moulding, pulling, fixing and LOVING getting dirty with all things arty 💫
Thriving when activated with my favourite sense which is TOUCH ♥️
I want to thank them for teaching me boundaries, for providing safeness, for regulating my nervous system, for gifting me with the joy of playing ✨✨
Through my hands I discover new worlds and with them I want to build my dream life 🌷

How do you feel about your hands?

When I can’t be behind my easel, I still love feeding my artist brain.

Sometimes being an artist is just squeezing a little inspiration into the in-between moments of an ordinary day.

Today: dropping off my son + a podcast on the way home.

A few that have fed my creative brain over the years:
🎧 Your Art Matters — Michelle Lloyd
🎧 Show Up or Shut Up — Wendy Solganik
🎧 She Means Business — Carrie Green
🎧 The Creative Penn Podcast — Joanna Penn

Save this for your next drive 🚗
and tell me what I should listen to next❤️
