Big Sima & Boomtown with IVRSN @ A rolling Stone in Ōtautahi was one for the books 🔥

This was the first gig for their Price of Peace EP tour and it was truly something special. They held two shows in one night with the first being an all ages event - Paving the way for our future generations to get amongst the music scene with many rangatahi getting to experience their first ever live gig and with whanau in the crowd was an Ātaahua experience 🤍

Followed by their r18 gig that absolutely went off!

Thanks for having me on board for the visuals team, big love to all involved 🙏🔥

Big Sima and Boomtown are currently on the road taking their The Price of Peace EP around Aotearoa, and last weekend they kicked things off right here in Ōtautahi with something pretty special.

Taking over The Rolling Stone for an ALL AGES live show, the night gave our rangatahi the opportunity to experience the energy of a live band and a proper gig environment, and for some, it was their very first live show!

Some of our Christchurch Hip Hop Summit team were lucky enough to be there, and seeing the excitement, smiles and dance moves from our future generation was seriously wholesome.

A massive acknowledgement to Lucas and the entire team for making this happen and creating a space where our young people could experience live music in a safe and welcoming environment.

All ages gigs matter. They introduce the next generation to live music, artists, venues and culture and nights like this can spark a lifelong love for music. This one truly set the bar.

Big salute to Big Sima & Boomtown for recognizing the importance of bringing rangatahi along for the journey and showing what an all ages event can look and feel like.

👏🏽 More of this, Aotearoa.

THANKYOU ŌTAUTAHI ❤️🖤

Special mention to all the kids + parents in these photos who made the night so special and kicked us off by setting the energy which carried through the evening, and of course to all our beautiful whānau present, we are so grateful. These are the ones we leave at home when we go out on the road, so it felt right to share this moment together.

Also massive love to our good friend @tess_nz_ at @unitedsoulvisuals on the 📸 (mean mahi sister!)

In 1888 Reefton became the first place in the southern hemisphere to have electric street lighting.

This West Coast gold rush town was ahead of fashionable London and New York suburbs💡

Reefton’s mainstreet, Broadway, is full of restored buildings and great food.

@reeftondistillingco makes award winning gin using native botanicals hand foraged from the West Coast rainforest.

Their Little Biddy Gin is named after a 4ft tall gold prospector ⭐️

Mountain biking, fishing and the Victoria Forest Park are right on Reeftons doorstep 🚵

📍 Reefton, 3 hours from Christchurch via Lewis Pass, and just under 4 hours from Nelson.

The perfect first stop on a West Coast road trip 🚗
