Last night was really special.

Being recognized by United Ways of California and my fellow CEOs as the Carol Jackson Advocate Award recipient meant a lot. It means even more coming from people who understand this work and what it takes to keep showing up.

I was especially touched by the words from Kimberly Starrs and Keisha Browder. I have so much respect for them and the paths they’ve paved in our United Way network.

That network means everything. We are doing hard work in our communities, but we are not doing it alone. We show up for each other and keep this work moving forward together.

And having my daughter there made it even more meaningful. She got to see women leading and being recognized for their impact across our state.

Honored to be recognized alongside Monique Limón, Senate Champion Award Recipient, and Sharon Quirk-Silva, Assembly Champion Award Recipient.

And how cool for my daughter to hear directly from these women and why this work is important to them.

Grateful for the moment and even more grateful to be in this work with all of you.

Today, under the PRU Climate Action Project, we joined hands with the community of Chorkor to participate in the mandatory monthly sanitation exercise instituted by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly for every first Saturday of the month.

The clean-up exercise began at 7:30 AM and continued through to 12:00 noon, bringing together committed partners and residents who shared a vision for a cleaner, healthier environment.

Key Participants at today's clean-up included:
👉🏼 5 staff from Prudential Life Insurance Ghana
👉🏼 10 staff from the Accra Metropolitan Assembly
👉🏼 9 community leaders
👉🏼 20 community members

Together, we cleared over 300kg of silt and waste, improved sanitation in key areas, and reinforced the importance of collective responsibility in protecting our environment.

This initiative is part of the PRU Climate Action Project, which continues to empower communities to build climate resilience, improve sanitation, and promote sustainable environmental practices.

A big thank you to all the volunteers and community members who showed up and made a difference today. When communities, local authorities, and corporate partners work together, real change happens!💚

Big congratulations to Wegmans on being named a United Way Worldwide Leading Corporate Partner — one of the most distinguished honors in corporate philanthropy! 👏

We’re proud to see this recognition presented by our friends at United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes, who helped champion this well-deserved honor.

This recognition reflects something so many communities like ours here in Chautauqua County have known for a long time.

Wegmans isn’t just a company that gives. They lead with purpose.

In 2025 alone, Wegmans supported more than 40 United Ways from Rochester to the mid‑Atlantic and raised more than $8.7 million. Wherever a Wegmans store stands, a United Way community is stronger because of it.

Their impact goes far beyond dollars — through employee campaigns, volunteerism, and a deep, values-driven commitment to strengthening the places they call home.

Right here in Chautauqua County, we see that impact every single day.

From their incredible support of our annual register scan campaign, to the energy and enthusiasm of their employees, to the way they consistently show up for our community, our local Wegmans store is a true partner in every sense of the word.

So today, we celebrate this national recognition, and we also say thank you for what it means right here at home. 💙

The heart of our city isn’t found in our buildings or our streets, it’s found in our people. At Monday’s State of the City, I had the privilege of presenting the 2026 Best of South Salt Lake Awards to the residents, businesses, and groups that make our community so unique.

Each of these winners represents the persistence, kindness, and collaboration that keep us moving forward. Whether they are mentoring our youth, building local businesses, or looking out for their neighbors, they are the “special sauce” that make SSL a true City of Kindness.

He didn’t come to prove anything, he came to support.

For the last 3 years, at the TCS World 10K Bengaluru, Gopal has been running alongside Champions with Disability, not as a participant, but as someone who stands with them.

While many run for time, he runs for people. He matches their pace, supports them, and makes sure they don’t feel alone during the race.

Every step he takes has a purpose. It shows that real strength is not just about running fast, but about helping someone move forward.

For Gopal, this is not just a race. It’s about being there, supporting others, and showing what true inclusion looks like.

Ever wondered how visually impaired runners participate in marathons? 🏃‍♂️

They run with the support of dedicated guides who help them stay on track, maintain direction, and move safely throughout the race. From holding hands to guiding with coordination and trust, every step is a beautiful example of teamwork and inclusion.

With the support of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, many persons with disabilities get opportunities to take part in events like the TCS World 10K Bengaluru - proving that with the right support, every runner can reach the finish line.

Register Today and come and support inclusive and be a part of something good 🙌
